The foxglove looks like it might be Candy Mountain. I'm not sure, but when I go to photobucket slide shows, after it cycles through the photos, when I hit my back button, it takes me to the previous photo. No, I checked and it's disabled. So I remembered to open in a new tab so I could get back to the forum more easily.

Yeah, Ken, I'm also balking at buying multiples for a border. The U. Albormarginata is in place because I literally have thousands of them. They made a handy border at the time, but now I want something more permanent to finish a couple beds. One bed already has several hostas with white or cream margins (Fortunei Aureomarginata, Antioch, Pilgrim, Wide Brim, Mountain Snow), The other bed has a background of Royal Standard and plantaginea and is getting a young magnolia and probably a bunch of Canadian Ginger this summer. I was thinking of buying maybe 4 plants this year to divide, then dividing them again next spring when I replace the border. If I can't find any pic examples, I'll just divide mine and trial plant it in part of the current border. Ah, just found a pic of one bed from last year. This is where the magnolia will go.

Bernd- You have a point there. Too many new introductions are being marketed and sold w/o having been grown to maturity. A cool looking tc sport or seedling grows for 2 or 3 years and shazzam, get it out and sell it. Once I took the time to read thru the AHS "New Registrations" booklet only to discover that in some of the descriptions, it would say 3 yr. old seedling, or a sport that was discovered a year ago. No one knows how it will perform in backyards under different growing conditions. I rather enjoy some of the rattier photos of some hostas. It shows me how one will look under under different growing conditions. Carol Brasher used to take the photos for Mary Chastain's old website. Every one of them looked breathtaking. I bought a bunch and some were indeed beautiful, but not all. Sometime I get totally taken in by a leaf photo, only to not like the plant in more or less shade/sun. I wish one couldn't register or market a hosta that hadn't been grown out for 5 years, But I am dreaming again. Hi Josephines! Good to hear from you. This Key West was planted in 2012. It has been growing steadily but slowly in my zone 6 garden. Actually it is planted in a lot of morning and early afternoon sun. By 3 P.M. it is in the shade. As you, I like the bright chartreuse green of the leaf blades. Here it is pictured with Olive Bailey Langdon and Dick Ward. Lots of water here. Be patient, yours will get there soon! thanks for your kind comment!
