My mother-in-law has it and she did a very strict diet change. Her eyebrows have grown back and her hairline stopped falling out. She didn't get any body hair back but I think she is fine with that.
I was curious what type of diet chsnge? I already eat a fairly good diet. Lots of fruits and veggies. I don't eat much red meat or pork. Mostly chicken and cold water fish (salmon , cod, tuna etc)....
I lost every hair on my body in less than 6 weeks when initial tragic loss of my mother happened. Since then I've regrown my eye brows, lashes, pubic hair and leg hair.....my scalp hair came in white/blondish.....that was two Years ago. That white/blond hair has fallen out and am back to my original brunette color. Its just not full or thick like it was.... Several balding spots.
I realize stress is a major factor....and don't have a lot of stress now so not sure why it doesn't come back fully again. I take multi vitamins and another for my hair. Its an auto immune disease that's why I take vitamins to help my immune system.
I'm simply curious if any one else has experienced this disorder.
Yeah, stress can do a lot to a body. I have autoimmune conditions too but don't deal with alopecia. I'm also a big fan of supplements. Good luck in your search.
Oops, didn't see the first sentence. She is gluten, cow dairy and soy free. She has always been quite healthy with how she eats so undertaking the change wasn't too difficult for her. I have been on a similar diet with even more restrictions for about 5 years now and wished I had her willpower? determination? I don't know whatever is she has I don't seem to have it. I do it still but it doesn't seem as easy as it does for her.
