gibby, I have seen other pictures of seafoam green and have really loved it. I am going to the granite yard to look at what they have in stock. klutterkara, I have looked at samples on the internet of Costa Smerelda, and like it as well. I will be looking for both of those at the yard. I have looked at Typhoon Green and found one slab already that has some green in it. It is not my most favorite, but it does go well with the tile I have chosen. Depending on what I find in the granite yard, I may end up going with that one. It's getting close to needing to make a decision and I have to get off the fence!!! Thank you both for your suggestions.

Thank you circus peanut. The faucet will be centered. Are you saying it is a bad thing to have a cut out for the faucet or other things such as a soap dispenser at the seam? We had to get 2 slabs of our granite to have enough for both runs of perimeter cabinets and will use leftovers in other parts of the house. The granite is called maritaca green (DD who studied Spanish says that is parrot green) and is a fairly deep green with wavelike white swirls and occasional speckles of darker color. Some of the white swirls are very dramatic and by cutting a 4' piece from each slab we can have matching swirls on each side of the sink. I think that by cutting an arm for behind the sink from either of the slabs we would lose the ability to use the remnant piece of that slab for a bathroom. So I guess the fabricator was trying to help us get the most bang for the buck. I never thought to search "granite seam" but I'll do that now.

Love the photos and suggestions! Littlesmokie, I haven't read that book. I'll look for it in the library. I'm heading back to the F&B paint store tomorrow with my tile samples. I went to the store that carries FPE and just got completely overwhelmed. I can't make rhyme nor reason out of their system. I don't understand why they don't offer a deck of their sample colors. Pinch Me, though I love P&L tiles, their website is almost completely useless. My husband found the P&L catalogue online at http://digitallibrary.interiordesign.net/doc/Library/Pratt-_-Larson-Ceramics/2009063001/ which is so much more helpful. Their Victorian glazed tiles are even more delicious in person. The crackle and glazes and colors. Gorgeous! If anyone's interested in the funky green tiles I'm using, they're P&L R-gloss tiles, colors R-135, R-136, and #-137. If you want to go darker, R-108 is a deeper version of 137. For my counters, I hope to use soapstone. I think I can swing that in the budget. If not, I'll go with butcher block counters. Here is a link that might be useful: Online Pratt & Larson catalogue

Thanks! I agree with you - it still looks great after several years. It's not as trendy and that probably helps. Here are a few of my inspirational photos: Sunset 2010 Dream Remodel.
