What TIME of day do you exercise?
Comments (5)Forget the treadmill.Use your child as a weight! You can lift her over your head and work your shoulders.Bend over and lift her up to you and you are working your back.Lay her across your arms like a barbell and "curl" her. Hold her while you do some leg exercises. I think they make baby carriers for people that like to hike.Put her in one and do squats and donkey raises for your legs. You can sit her on your thighs, hold hands and do some crunches for your stomach. I have had three kids and you just won't be able to make the time right now. My husband also works nights so I understand the problem. But I would definitely look into hiking gear for parents and walk around the neighborhood daily.Or how about a jogging stroller? If you bike, they make these little enclosed cars that you can attach to your bike.Check yard sales. I found a very expensive stroller once for $5. Or you can check any consignment shops, Goodwill, or Play it Again Sports shops. I have found that , if you look in the right places, you can find anything you need for alot less money....See MoreWhich Exercise Bike Do You Like Best?
Comments (1)Yea, I have had a recumbant exercise bike (which looks the the picture below), for a number of years. It's only recently that I have begun to use it daily. I try and "ride" it for at least 1-2 hours at the hardest (#8) level. Shown below is the one that I would like to get. I have used this type at the gym a few times, and I really like it better. It seems more comfortable, and easier to use. But, that's just my opinion....See MoreDo you have a favorite exercise DVD?
Comments (21)I won't even admit how many exercise DVDs I've tried. My very favorite is Karen Voigt and, in fact, I just bought her Ballet BodySculpt DVD http://www.amazon.com/Ballet-BodySculpt-Karen-Voight/dp/B00466G5XA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1342028935&sr=8-1&keywords=ballet+sculpt+voight and I love it. I was worried it would be too easy, but it was a good workout. I have most of her other DVDs also. I also like The Method All in One http://www.amazon.com/Method-Pilates-All-One-Workout/dp/B000067J06/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1342029138&sr=1-1&keywords=The+Method+All+in+One, altho some people think it's too complicated. Sometimes, tho, I think that's better than multiple boring reps. I also recently bought Supreme 90 day http://www.amazon.com/Supreme-Day-System-Cal-Pozo/dp/B004S2YN5O/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1342029208&sr=1-1&keywords=supreme+90+day+10-dvd+set+workout for the Tabata workout, but you get 10 DVDs for $20. I also love Yoga DVDs. The reviews on Amazon really help me decide if a DVD is something I'd like....See Morewhat do you do for exercise?
Comments (17)Interesting to hear what you all are doing. Minnie, I don't think I'm old - just older than I used to be. I completely subscribe to your philosophy of what old is!! I would like to make it a priority to do more in the way of exercise though. I generally do something 4-5 days a week but I'd really like to do more. It would be great if I did two kinds of exercise per day or something every day then I could get back into the ball routine which was really great for the core. I was doing that for a while but it just became too much - basically work, come home, exercise, grab something to eat, go to bed, repeat. I kind of like some down time. Well, we shall see if I become motivated to do something about this.......See Morejim_1 (Zone 5B)
