How much do you exercise?
Comments (5)Mini-workout in the am before my shower: 20 pushups (most are half/modified, I do as many full ones as I can first - I'm up to 8), 25 crunches, 20 squats. Sun/Tues/Thurs nights (9pm or so - we like late workouts): To the gym w/DF for 20 min. on the treadmill, then a little weight lifting Every night before bed: Stretching exercises (quick, and nothing too straining I started the morning and evening routines because I used to feel *soooo* guilty on those inevitable nights when we'd skip the gym...now since I can do those two things anywhere and they take about 5 minutes, I don't feel bad about missing the gym occasionally, because at least I'm doing *something* on a daily basis. :-)...See Moreexercise for someone who has not exercised in a LONG time
Comments (11)You asked if we thought someone who had not exercised in a long time could get back in shape. well, think about this, if you DON"T exercise some, even a little, what kind of shape will you be in this time next year? You'll be worse. You want to start doing something, and walking is a good beginning, to just stay where you are. You may never get back to what you could do when you were a teenager, but you can certainly improve on what you are today. Give it a good try. It will be well worth it!!...See Morewhat do you do for exercise?
Comments (17)Interesting to hear what you all are doing. Minnie, I don't think I'm old - just older than I used to be. I completely subscribe to your philosophy of what old is!! I would like to make it a priority to do more in the way of exercise though. I generally do something 4-5 days a week but I'd really like to do more. It would be great if I did two kinds of exercise per day or something every day then I could get back into the ball routine which was really great for the core. I was doing that for a while but it just became too much - basically work, come home, exercise, grab something to eat, go to bed, repeat. I kind of like some down time. Well, we shall see if I become motivated to do something about this.......See MoreThursday's 'Share a exercise tip' exercise thread
Comments (4)Supposed to cut the grass today, but doubt if I'll get to it. It's not growing anymore, thank goodness, so I'm safe for another week. I've been walking all day every day at work, so I take my days off to relax, sort of, although I am doing housework, and that's enough exercise for one day. I do have one tip, though. While you're sitting in your recliner watching t.v., do leg lifts and bicycles (don't have to stick your feet up in the air) and throw in a few scissors. You'll feel that tush tightening quicker than you would imagine, and the tummy flattening too. I started out doing about 20, and ended up doing 500, and it helped me a lot. Of course, I'm not doing it now, but I'm going to start back. I just don't watch too much t.v. anymore....See More- 10 years ago
