Beth Northland Roses also lists First Crush as a floribunda and her photos show a cluster of blooms. Kordes Newflora has it as a floribunda as well. I suspect it's a floribunda that has upright ht growth.

I have four First Crush roses and to me if acts like a floribunda. It has lots of flowers that are double and the bush, in my wet PNW garden, will grow to 4 feet. To my nose the fragrance is faint but pleasant.

i planted a climbing red rose by almost end of summer last year in a sandy soil. never flourish only saw tiny leaves. this year i checked them and looks like brown dead branches. i dont know if its still alive. i was short of compost soil or gardening soil last time that i tried my luck if it will grow and flourish. Maybe i will try to dig and change the soil. but my rose tree bloomed 2 colors in one tree a red and yellow last year, hope i get good blooms this year

Well, this Beth got one from Northland Rosarium last fall... and I can't wait to see blooms like that, Ninkasi!! BethC, I think you need it too....

Sheesh, y'all are making it hard to resist. I may have to clear a place for it, heck what is one more right? I don't know if I call Chamblees tomorrow if they'll add it to my order but if not I'll have to get it next month when I order the roses for the new flower bed. Heck, I may even need to make the drive to the nursery. If I go to the nursery I don't have to spend my rose money on shipping and have it to spend on roses. DH fills my car with gas so it comes out of his pocket!

I love FC!! Our Lowes had them last year plus Summer Romance and Zaide which are gorgeous as well! Hoping they have some more Kordes and this year! I ordered Earth Angel and Madam Anisette from chamblee and they came today. Nice beautiful plants :)

BethC, it's calling you, and you will dream about it tonight. :-) I am sure they will let you to add on one more. :-) I will be checking on HD roses this year for Kordes. They had a lot of Julia Child last summer, but by that time I already got 8 of them online.

April, I am getting a Dreamland from Palatine this year ( left over from last season), they only had one left. They will have Dreamland again for 2017.

It was Ninkasi's photo of this rose last year, that put it on my wish list, although it wasn't then available here. It has been released this year and I am expecting my grafted bare root plant in early June, so Ninkasi, thanks for the enablement :-) Melodye

Oh darn, they already have my order packed so I can't add it. Once I decide for sure what roses I'm going to replace the dying sprayed roses with it might be worth my while to make a trip over there. It is about a 2 hour drive but if I'm buying a bunch gas might be cheaper than shipping. Of course if I drive I might be able to get 2 gallons and not just 1 gallons.

Y'all are really dangerous to the pocket book. First Crush moved to the top of my list.

Well, well, well. Chamblees just called me back and my order had been pulled but not boxed so I could add First Crush to my order. Since I was already adding to my order I added Iceberg too. Adding the two roses only increased my shipping by $6. It was a shame not to do it. However, if I had added a third rose shipping would have gone up $18 because they'd have had to add an extra box. I guess 10 roses is enough to keep me busy for a while.

Now please don't enable me to order any more roses.

Good for you Beth! But I think you should still make a trip to see them too lol. You never know what treasure you will find in the bargain area! I picked up several DA roses last year for $2.50 and $5.00. It's a 2 HR drive for me too and we usually go once a year... It's so worth the trip. Have fun with your new roses. First Crush looks beautiful!

Guys, if I lived 2 hrs from Chamblees I would probably be eating saltines and drinking water but I'd have a million roses! Hahaha! Planted about 25 the last couple days and waiting on a few more orders to come. Have a TON of space left in a new bed so waiting to see what the nurseries and lowes/ HD have before I order more this fall. Oh isn't it fun?!!

I have a few of these that I bought up on clearance from Lowes last summer. My experience with this rose is that it reacts more like an Austin rose in its growth pattern than a typical HT or Floribunda.
