Comments (12)Great photos, everyone! but alisande, that photo totally cracked me up!!! And WHY is that girl carrying what looks like an accordian? or is it an old-time camera???! I'll bet you were using the stump to lift your body and "fly like an airplane". :) Not sure what to post for a photo yet. We've had days and days and days of rain... and my veg garden isn't all in yet. :(...See MorePlease show me your new kitchen with boring white appliances
Comments (5)Thank you so much, Lydiasmomma! Yes those metal cabinets with the drainboard sinks are charming. I have to admit that we were pretty hard on the enamel finish though, and the former owners must have been, too. I adored the drainboards, but not trying to keep the sink portion looking nice. Bar Keeper's Friend was the only thing that kept it decent, and even then it seemed tough on it. I about choked when I found out that the sink could have lead in it too. But then I decided we weren't going around licking it, so hey. What I'm really trying to say is, enjoy your new sink! : ) Yes, the exposed beam was absolutely structural. We had to jack up the house after we moved in, and when we did so, we watched the areas where it was pegged together (that had come loose as the house sagged) go back together tightly again. Comments (5)Hi Tom, Congrats on seeing your first Giant Swallowtail of the spring. They are so graceful in flight and one I love to watch in the garden. I've seen no butterflies here yet but with the warmer days and nights of our early spring, I suspect they'll be arriving soon. Most everything is budding. I think I can see the beginnings of a sprout of spider milkweed beginning to poke through the soil (in ground). The biggest surprise of this mild winter and early spring is outside tropical milkweed that actually lived through the winter. Well, the roots anyway! I have a big pot planted with Rue sitting on the deck and when the Monarch cats had eaten cuttings of tropical mw down to bare stalks, I'd stick the stalks around the rim of this pot to root. The tops died with the first frost last fall. But surprise, the roots didn't die and they're now pushing up new growth. This is a first for me, to have roots of this mw survive a winter. Sure hope the Monarchs still in their winter home in Mexico come through the late storm OK. Mary...See MoreNew arrival, show me yours!
Comments (37)I can't remember the one I used last, it may have been AuctionStealer (hate the name), and I've used GIXEN and AuctionSniper. The firs two are free and gets you within 10 seconds, I think. A paid version will do it closer to three seconds and you get a lot more features. https://www.auctionstealer.com/info.cfm If you should want or need to pay, there are others to look at. Try 'ebay automatic bid auction service' Doc, how did you come across those photos? (Usually the catalog has tiny photos.)...See Moreakrrm (Nancy in NJ 7a)
