White quartz counter tops - staining?
Comments (8)I have Pental lattice, it reads white but has some very fine caramel veins if you look up close. I have had it 2 months now so not long, but have not notice any staining and with moving in the the house and all I have not kept things as clean as I normally do and things have sat on it over night. I cleaned up some blueberry syrup that had dried on there. A smear of grape juice. My husband sat an aerosol can on it that had rust on the bottom and that came right up. So far so good....See MoreWhichQuartz/man-made counters have the most natural look & feel?
Comments (14)Thanks for all these responses--very helpful! I'm looking at Cambria Torquay online now, and it looks like we have a few local Cambria dealers. I'll also check out Caesarstone and the others mentioned. Deeageaux, tks for explaining the difference between Corian and quartz. I'm at the very beginning of my research on this, so having only touched one man-made sample (Corian) I assumed they all felt like plastic. Good to know there are so many options. BTW, my 3 cm Vermont Danby Olymipian White marble was reasonably priced than many other white marbles like Calacatta Gold (my Danby was about $85-90 sq ft installed) and I love it. Just had to give the Danby a plug. But I think the Camb ria or another quartz might be the answer for my parents' cottage, because my mom would hate to have to worry about etching, etc. Thanks again!!...See MoreCambria Countertop-Would a matte gray(Carrick matte) look like quartz?
Comments (10)Rita, Great point! If anyone has experience with that edge let me know. Is the concern mostly that its not smooth rubbing against. Also, we have children so let me know if there would be concerns around that. I guess I'm concerned that others might mistake it for a plastic countertop and wondering if that is likely. I realize I don't need to be concerned with what others think, however I guess I can't help it. ;)...See MoreWhich product looks most like concrete?
Comments (18)I do not want the hassle of the real thing. I just want a no maintenance counter that will last for years. There must be a quartz that comes close. When I find one it has a matte finish and I am being told that it will be hard to keep clean. Does matte stain more easily? Thanks for all of your thoughts. K...See MoreJoseph Corlett, LLC
