Our new kitchen

Renovating the kitchen was an ardorous painstaking process that took forever. I designed the plan myself and chose the combination of colors and material. The carpenter who worked on it gave me exactly what I wanted. A clean look, modern, open space kitchen with plenty of light. The space was very difficult to work with because of the 'strange' corners, but the end result was worth it!!

I sampled many paints for my kitchen reno, I wanted an off-white with just a hint of grey/silver. Agreeable gray was one of my samples, but a little too dark gray for my vision. The winner ended up being SW Crushed Ice. Every room is different so I suggest trying several sample colors. In this picture, you can see the wall left of the corner is blasted by morning light, so at this moment it appears warmer off-white, in the shadows it’s very pale grey (the window wall). Taking pictures of some off-whites is a challenge, I realize in this pic it appears to be completely different colors but it’s simply the difference in sun exposure, it’s not nearly as contrasting to the naked eye. sowkmom - It's 36 inches from the floor to the bottom of the new frame. If you look closely, the window used to have the same frame all the way around that it still has on the top and sides. They took part of the bottom of the frame off and finished it with a different piece of wood. I had never thought of that and so hadn't considered extending the peninsula under the window. When the house was built in the 1970 it had a peninsula, but it wasn't eat-in and turned out about 3 inches before the window starts. Then you were supposed to squeeze a kitchen table in that 6 ft space. When our designer said it was no big deal to change the bottom of the frame, I was thrilled! We definitely didn't have the money to move the whole window (and didn't want to lose any light) so I think this was a good compromise.

One color on the cabs for sure. The stone is already busy so you don’t want to overwhelm the space. Also, if you chose two different colors for cabinets they would be competing with the countertops. You don’t want that. Tops tops are the star of the show, let them be the star. I agree with the commenters above on using the stone reds/purples for your cabinet color. For the SW swatch that was posted above, I would say the Blackberry would look awesome with your stone & gold hardware.

I don't really know how helpful I can be. I'll do my best. I'm setting down a link for the counter top which is a caesar stone countertop.

The cabinets and 'glass' were from ''blum''. However, the glass, is sort of a ''sister'' company I 'm assuming, that offers it's products to ''blum'', but I couldn't find on the original ''blum'' site. it's called ''bluran'', but the site is only in Israel. You'll have to check if they have services where you're living. I used a lot of the ideas they had to offer for the cabinet around the sink, and below it. I sort of personalized the sink cabinet to fit in my garbage disposal, but it worked out fine. The long cabinets, (a couple can't be seen in this view of the kitchen) I used either the ''pull out drawers'' or the whole storage cabinet that pulls out. I personalized that to allow for storage of my ''brooms'' and cleaning stuff. I have drawers for ALL the cabinets on the lower level, so everything comes right out. You can't see it, but there's an integrated dishwasher too.

As for the 'panels'. I'm really not sure of the company name. I'll have to get back to my carpenter and check with him and let you know when I do.
