OT: Very Weird Question
Comments (3)My first thought was slime mold, except it's not "supposed" to grown on live plants. It is "supposed" to grow on wood chip mulch. I installed 11,000 square feet of lasagna beds this year, and have been the proud? mom of 11,000 square feet of slime mold, reblooming throughout the summer. My point is, there is no doubt in my mind I can identify slime mold. This week I found slime mold growing up the legs of a galvanized steel trellis. If it will grow up a steel trellis, it quite possibly could be your culprit, too....See MoreI have a really weird question.
Comments (23)Burial wishes should be discussed IN PERSON with all involved beforehand, not written in a will. Final resting place and body handling decisions including are usually made within 24-48 of death - usually way before the will is ever located. You are using that first 24 hours to cry, contact relatives and friends, make long-distance phone calls, looking for telephone numbers, answering the front door with all the visitors who stop by, cramming food into the fridge, getting the church and program arrangements made, choosing pall bearers, selecting readings, selecting hymns, etc, etc, etc. You do NOT have any time to go find a will - especially if it is in a locked safety deposit box or with an attorney. The will is usually located in the weeks following the burial. So family or whomever is in charge needs to KNOW - IN THEIR BRAIN - what your final wishes are. Trust me - my father died unexpectedly a few years ago - I have been through all of this. Do not put your burial wishes in a will or some file that will not be found until much later. Those in charge need to know immediately how your body should be handled. How to dispose of your assets - not your body - goes in the will....See MoreWeird question about GE fridge
Comments (3)The GE manual is available on-line. It says you can lift out the freezer drawers. The link is below. Made by Samsung? Please share where you got that info. I ask because, AFAIK, GE was outsourcing to LG up until last year, and that led to very serious quality control problems. ("Serious" meaning a 25% defect rate on fridges delivered to consumers according to Consumer Reports annual surveys.) I had no idea they also were outsourcing production to Samsung. I do know that the dreadful QC on the LG units was part of the reason that GE brought production back to US and opened a new production at its Louisville, KY facility last June. I thought the current crop of GE fridges was all supposed to be coming from there. Here is a link that might be useful: Manual for CFCP1N fridge...See MoreFans question - weird one...
Comments (5)A quick google search reveals a few Broan fans can be wall or ceiling mounted. You will need a right angle adapter for the vent, most likely. If flex ducting is permitted where you are (not my favourite, they collect more duct and plastic ones are a fire hazard) it may make things similar. You will have to cut an exploratory hole through into the dropped ceiling and have a look, then you'll know if it will work or not. Hopefully there is enough room for two vents outside, side by side. If the existing vent/vent flapper is older, it might make sense to replace it whilst it's accessible, and then they'll match. I would use a drywall hand saw to cut your exploratory hole, a power tool is too risky when there could be wiring in there. Keep in mind you can't cut any studs in the outside wall. As for cutting the hole in the outside wall, consider buying a suitable hole saw assuming your outside wall is wood or wood & siding. When you're going through vinyl siding, once the hole saw is almost touching the siding, REVERSE THE drill, and slowly cut through the siding with the drill running in reverse. This also works a treat with aluminium and other delicate materials... Running in normal forwards mode will rip the siding up.
