Anyone bag pawpaw fruit?

I think my two pawpaws have a chance at producing some fruit this year. I planted three years ago. Last year they flowered for the first time, but the fruit either dropped or was eaten by some crittter while still small.

I want to increase the odds of actually tasting pawpaw fruit this year, so I'm considering bagging. Is this an option for keeping squirrels/possums/racoons away from the fruit? At what size would you start to bag the fruit?
