Some do :-) Well, maybe not forever, but often until they reach the limit of the appropriate growing conditions. The sizes given are estimates based on average conditions, as with the sizes specified with any plant. Plants don't magically hit some predetermined size listed in books and immediately stop growing. They will continue to grow as long as they are alive, although once the genetically programed size is achieved, growth generally slows dramatically. And it is important to remember the growth characteristics of the specific plant in question - there are both running and clumping forms of OG's. The clumpers will most often follow that genetic programming and once they have reached the optimum spread, the increase will be so slow as to be perhaps unnoticeable except when comparing against several years. Runners or those spreading by rhizomatous root systems will continue to spread as long as conditions allow. The sizes listed for these are likely averages for the widest range of conditions - if the true potential was listed, many possible purchasers may be scared off :-)) It's similar to the convention of listing a 10 year size on trees and shrubs - on average, 10 years is about the maximum one deals with a specific plant in a specific landscape.

I have 34" from tip/lip of stove to counter overhang edge and I love it. (40" from cabinet face to cabinet face) I didn't want to take any extra steps - just pivot from range to island. There's enough room for a person to pass when I'm working. When the range door is open though no one can pass - and we like it that way with young kids around. We really worked this number and mocked it up and lived with boxes used as an island in our old kitchen for a week or 2 until we found a comfortable number. The distance from the main sink with DW to island is 44" for us and I'm glad to have the extra room. The island holds our everyday dishes so both a drawer and the DW is open at the same time. You cannot pass but both can be opened. I recommend mocking things up and live with it for awhile. When I first mocked up the island I hated it. I never had an island before and it seemed like a barrier. over 2 weeks I got use to it. Now that it's in I LOVE my island.

The elephant in the room is a table shape & size that just doesn't work. You need something smaller, or square or round. I really dislike those signs that are so popular now...unless they're authentic, vintage AND suit the demeanor of the room. Your "bakery" sign is long & narrow & pushed off to the side of the wall. It looks awkward there & should be hung on a smaller wall. Is that your kitchen with the "antiques" sign over the bulkhead? I think that sign might look good on dining area wall. Remove that foliage from the light fixture. No tablecloth.

I really like Maureen’s distractions if you need or want a wall for displaying beloved things in frames, not all of which need to be family photos or kids’ artwork (although I am a huge fan of the latter). Things that are very fixed tight to the wall seem better to me than anything on a narrow shelf that could get knocked over More fun stuff that can mix it up with framed photos or art (Those are coasters) (That’s a flat trick-eye mirror) More coasters
