Have you measured a specific depth and height that would be comfortable for your husband? It seems like Century and Benchmade do not customize depth. You really are only customizing the length of your sofa in 5" increments. However, if they have a depth that is already what your husband finds comfortable then it might be a good place to shop. Also, do you have thick fluffy removable back pillows on your current sofa? If so, you could have it reupholstered as a tight back and gain extra inches in depth. I did this with a vintage Baker sofa from the 80s. It is now deeper and sturdy as a tank.

eliminate the micro/ and oven stack..... get a range and great hood and backsplash tile instead of sole cooktop. place mwave elsewhere . I'd put a smaller sink on fridge wall.... then make your diag peninsula a true 90 degree set up ....put sink on the part facing breakfast. figure out which sink area is best for the bigger one w dishwasher...you can pick one of two spots for it. you can take out the one wall w red X that borders on great room side......then w peninsula in an L shape you can have stools on the both sides and it will feel like an island......and with hood detail and tiling of splash that visual will be improved. An actual island wont be any better. You have a formal living/dining so the seating coming from great room to the two sided peninsula will be very social..I think youd like it.

My design book shows a 7'-6" x 3' bathroom similar to yours. The room is made shorter by substituting a pocket door in the wall adjacent to the toilet for the swing door. An even smaller bathroom, just 4'-6" x 3' is accomplished by including a corner toilet (yes, they exist) and small sink opposite a 24" wide pocket door.
