I have no problem viewing the site using Vista with IE9, Firefox26, Chrome31, or Opera18. If you are indeed using WinXP -- which will be a source of increasing concern as Microsoft is ending support and security updates for it this coming spring -- it means that you can't update from IE8 to IE9. So, as azinoh suggests, install another browser. Also put in the back of your mind that you should be thinking about getting a new computer if you are still using a WinXP machine. There are many new, inexpensive computers that would make your time online more enjoyable and more trouble-free.

Have you tried downloading it from the actual Malwarebytes site? If not, here's the site. https://www.malwarebytes.org/downloads/ Try downloading it without removing the first corrupted version and see if that works. There was a replacement for the first program update [issued on 4-1-14] and according to my own download files, it was issued on 4-6-14. The actual build was 4-3-14. The latest version is 2.0.1.1004 If you have no luck with my advice...I strongly suggest that you contact Malwarebytes directly through their website. I can tell you from personal experience that they are wonderful people to do business with and always eager to assist. I should add that I have the paid version of Malwarebytes but that shouldn't make any difference with their help. Many moons ago I started out with the free version and went on from there. HTH Anne

In my limited experience, 3G is often problematic. It's best not to use it unless you must, like in the car, or for those features which only work on 3G. It also saves you bandwidth to use wifi when available. It's possible that your 3G was running slow and timing out before the information made it to the site. Where I live, theoretically we have 3G on all networks and 4G on some, but in reality we're usually on the Edge network or equivalent, which makes it more or less impossible to use it for anything more than text email.

Sad! I've spent nearly a whole day to deal with the problem weeks ago. I did not notice it until one day I wanted to search something. I was too lucky to find this post which lists detailed and free steps including deleting system files. Hope this works for you as well!
