LG range - anyone have one or know anything about it?
Comments (1)My mom has this range and is very pleased with it. She has the ceramic glass 5 burner top (I think it is a simmer burner) in Stainless. They never considered gas since they already had electric and they are retired so cost is important (and adding a gas line would have been expensive). The range has a warming drawer and a nice cobalt blue interior and seems well built. So far no issues. Just to add - my mother is an outstanding cook and cooks all her meals from scratch so this range is getting a daily workout....See MoreOMG I Have To Have One--I Think
Comments (49)I have the iPod, smaller than the iPad, just as useful. It uses WiFi through my home computer, no extra bill. I can also use its internet functions anywhere there is a hot spot. I can use all the apps, books, music, etc. without a connection. I use it dozens of times a day. One, I'm constantly listening to audio books...full length, unabridged, audio books. I have 91 loaded into it right not, more in the Apple page. I can purchase audio books on line, or I can put any of the audio CD books I own into the computer and download them into the iPod. I have a Kindle app, so if I have time to sit and read, I can use it. I also have the eBooks and iBooks apps for more reading. It came with a many-functions calander, contacts lists, clocks (world, alarm, timer), voice memo, calculator, more-than-acceptable camera, an unending note pad, a maps function that is better than my high-$ GPS, a Weather app...the list goes on and on. I have a full version Holy Bible, dictionary and theasaurs (be nice if I was using them right now, LOL) I am very busy, and alone, all day, every day. I have the iPod tucked into my running bra strap and an audio book going while I go about my chores and work. When I'm alone I don't have to wear the ear bud because I can hear the books fine. If I want to listen to music I pop it in the Bose docking station and the sounds are wonderful. I don't play games, but I do use it to surf the net when I'm in waiting rooms, etc. I also have a couple movies in it at all times. I can post to my forums, read news, check on anything. I know every store and restaurant in the area that has WiFi!!! It's an amazing tool....See MoreEclipse Sinks - Anyone have one or an opinion about them?
Comments (7)What's all this talk about Chinees product. Don't they own us enough already. Haven't we learned that they make inferior product and that is why it is so cheap. Have we not heard enough about the lead paint in the toys, the mold in the drywall, etc. Hey check out a US owned company that imports products from a European manufacturer that builds eveything to the exact same qauality standards as the high priced stuff like Blanco and Franke. BUT the pricing is not only less expensive than the other European Brands but also comparable and in many cases less expensive than the Chinees brands like Eclipse. Comments (14)Do read the fine print on everything. Prime shipping isn't all free. Often an item on Prime costs $5 more than the same item without prime. They just build shipping into the price. Additionally, often one version will be on Prime, and the others aren't (and sometimes there are different prices depending on color or whatever). That happens more with outside vendors who use Amazon for fulfillment, but sometimes for direct purchases from Amazon, too. Kindle Unlimited is a separate fee. It does cover about 100,000 popular titles, but the other 500,000 are self-published on Amazon books, so the number of titles available is misleading. Not all the self-published stuff is bad, but little of it is very good, based on my sampling. I got Unlimited at a big discount on Prime Day because I figured I'd use it enough to pay for itself at the reduced price. I figured I wouldn't at the regular price. KindleUnlimited only lets you have ten titles at a time, though you can read them across devices (up to six). You have to give back some to get more. I have a Kindle Paperwhite which I use for the daily paper. I'm allergic to the new inks and can't read the paper on paper anymore, and I love that it just shows up and I don't have to put on a coat and go outside for it. I read books more on my phone and tablet, however. The lending thing is okay, but I find it confusing. Echo is also something to look into. Prime Instant video is great. I use it on my iPad. With titles that aren't on Prime, however, it can be a pain. The best thing, however, if you live anywhere within the catchment of one of their big distribution centers, is the amount of one day, or even same day, deliveries that are possible. Mimipadv, I definitely remember driving all over town looking for what used to be available at a local store, or should have been available at every store, etc. When you need something right away and don't have time to go chasing it, and Amazon can deliver it for less than parking would cost, it's a real boon....See Moreplllog
