Meet Charlotte the spider
Comments (26)Goodness Marlene, I was just going to reply and tell you how beautiful Charlotte is and now you come up with this other one, I really love her too! She is just precious! Is that an old bike seat or what? Looks great on that headboard (and I love those cheery little flowers)! I used to be afraid of spiders when I was young, but they don't bother me anymore, in fact I find them quite interesting. It was a combination of reading Charlottes Web and living in FL. There are so many spiders here I would be terrified all the time if they scared me. I have those yellow and black ones in the yard, too. They make kind of a scribbley web. You and your DH make some great things out of junk. Everything is done so well. Really top shelf....See MoreThe latest addition I snuck into the garden....
Comments (8)Marc, we citrus lovers have to be 'craftier.' LOL..But I got caught too just last wk..I snuck in one more plant order (not citrus.)from Accents. We're painting the house now, so my dh takes off different days depending on which isn't busiest. He doesn't tell me in advance, and besides, even if he did, one never knows when a shipment will arrive. Well, sure enough, they rang the bell, and there was the UPS driver holding a box..LOL..of course my dh answered and accepted the package..he said, thought u weren't going to order anymore plants..my mouth dropped. I said, well, I ordered that some time ago..LOL. My mind was racing and I was trying to think up a good story. There were only 2 plant orders on last months cc statement, but in Aug I'm planning on ordering a Buddha's Hand, since mine died, and I need to order Superthrive and HIbiscus fertilizer from another nursery..So, that means the Aug statement will have another 2 nurseries..Oh well, what can ya do? Thankfully, my dh doesn't know when I get new plants, because of the number I have..but he does check my statement and will question me about what I purchased at so and so place..lol..WE must be more careful..Toni...See MoreMy Latest Citrus Addition - Ortanique Tangor & Tango Mandarin
Comments (34)Thank you, Carly and Mike, I'm doing fine, I've just had some disturbing issues coming up with both my job as well as my husband's, which has taken me away from forum activity. My citrus are all doing very well, time for some micronutrients, as for us in this part of S. California, the cold temps in combination with our drenching winter rains just leach out all the micronutrients in our soil, and what's left gets locked out due to our somewhat higher pH. So, I need to apply micronutrients to the soil as well as with a foliar application starting now. Interestingly, some citrus are nearly unaffected, like my Cara Cara, while others, like my blood oranges are really getting chlorotic looking. I think I'll also apply some chicken manure as well, but not so sure extra nitrogen at this point in the season is really helpful. It truly is a micronutrient issue we have here, especially those of us on DG (decomposed granite) soils. So, my line up is pretty much complete, unless I come across a Sumo mandarin in the near future (although I have a little seedling limping along). Picked one Oro Blanco a little early just to test, and it was so sweet, it tasted like it had sugar on it, but it was a wee bit dry. First crop, so not expecting great things. Things are ripening up and just about ready for picking, yummm: Grapefruit Rio Red Cocktail Melogold Oro Blanco Valentine Pummelo Mato Buntan Pummelo Tahitian (Sarawak) Pummelo Tangelolo/Tangors/Orangelos Wekiwa Tangelolo Ortanique Tangor Chironja Orangelo Mandarin Pixie Clementine-Nules Algerian/Clementine Gold Nugget Page Tango Nova California Honey Ponkan Manadrin Lime Bearss Lemon Meyer Improved Eureka "Pink Lemonade Eureka (Variegated)" Palestine Lime Orange Moro Blood Sanguinelli Blood Tarocco Blood Cara Cara Valencia Red Smith Valencia Vaniglia Sanguigno Blood Kumquat Miewa Kumquat Nagami Kumquat Variegated Calamondin Patty S....See MoreLatest additions
