Viburnum Awabuki 'Chindo'

Hello,

I live in Durham, NC and I planted several chindo viburnum as a screen a couple of years ago and I love them. They are fast growing and nice looking shrubs and seem to be tough so far, heat, cold, and drought tolerant.

I would like to plant some of these at my house on the North Carolina coast and I was wondering how salt tolerant they are? I've searched and searched and can't seem to find any good information on salt tolerance for them. I do know that they are native to the island of Chindo Korea which is an island off of the south coast of S. Korea, surrounded by the Yellow Sea so it would seem that they would be salt tolerant.

Does anyone have actual experience with chindo viburnum in a coastal environment?

Thanks, Dave
