I'm having the same problem with overwatering being the likely cause. It has rained here nearly every day since May and one of my potted figs has basically said enough. I drilled a couple more holes into the pot and have added a wick to help pull away some of the excess moisture, but I'm going to have to wait and see how it goes. I repotted many of my figs into a more easily draining mixture, but I figured I'd leave the three largest alone (as I had repotted them last summer) but I never considered I'd see as much rain as we've had this spring/summer. ~Chills

The white may be mealybugs. Loss of lower leaves by yellowing is common when cuttings root. As long as there is new foliage, all should be well. The new leaves will be better acclimated to your current growing conditions. I'd use a plant starter formula, which tends to be a bit higher in potash and especially phosphorus than 20-20-20.

I have the same thing happening this Year.I am sure it is Blackspot.I have been using a fungicide and it seems to be helping,at least it is getting any worse,and the Bush is looking really healthy apart from the already infected Leaves.

As I said in another post here, I'm growing butternut squash up a swingset. Some of the leaves are brown or yellow (dead). Should I cut them off, or just leave them? I didn't know if cutting the leaf stems would possibly introduce infection/bugs, etc.? Thanks.
