Who will win or who you think should win?

Best Picture.....Revenant. My choice, I don't know....Loved Room, Spotlight an Trumbo

Best Director....Alejandro (Revenant)

Best Actor.....DiCaprio....my choice, Cranston, Trumbo

Best Actress, Brie Larson, the Actress in The Room

Best Supporting Actor......Stalone...I didn't see Creed so I don't know but the actor who played Abel in Bridge of Spies was great!

Best supporting Actress.....I haven't seen Steve Jobs. Just taped it and will watch tomorrow. (I have to see it before Sunday) So for now, I'll say Kate Blanchett

Guess we are the only ones watching tonight.

Watching college BB right now, then the Walking Dead. I haven't seen many of the movies, and dislike watching the AA. But I'll see as many as I can on video, later. Nail biter in Wisconsin, can't stand how antsy I get during games and have to distract myself, hence this post.

This isn't about what we're saying here, while the show is starting, but I'll just be glad when people have to talk about something else. It's good news that there isn't enough bad news to crowd out the Oscars, but I'm still bored with all the yammer yammer yammer surrounding them for the last month. [ETA: I'm talking about being bored by the fluff stuff here, not the very important discussion about what gets made and who gets hired for big studio/big budget work.]

Like too many Academy members, I haven't seen enough of the films. One member said in an interview that the real issue with the lack of diversity is that the members don't conscientiously watch all the films (most of which are delivered free to them on DVD) because there are so many, and the old white guys aren't so likely to watch Beasts of No Nation, or Straight Outta Compton, just because the subject matter isn't appealing to them. I'm sure that's right. They don't appeal to me either, though I'll probably watch Straight Outta Compton, when it comes on HBO. But...The Revenant appeals to me less than Compton.

Still, on buzz rather than personal opinion, I think The Revenant will take the big awards and Brie Larson will get best actress. Stalone will get it on sentiment unless too many of the old coots are people who didn't like him the first time around. Maybe Alicia Vikander for supporting actress.

Well I got 3 out of 6. A few surprises!

Leo finally got one. Good!! I don't know if he deserved it for The Revenant as I haven't seen it, but he was long overdue.

LOL! They do sometimes give the award for the next movie when a long time favorite actor loses on his best work, but in this case I'm sure DiCaprio deserved it. He's gotten all the other awards and all that fluff blather I was complaining about said he was a shoo in.

Didn't see any of the movies but made a list of ones to rent. Love it that Leo won. He deserved it.

So I did switch the tv to the oscars after watching the above mentioned things (Yeah, Badgers!!!) And it so happened that both of the times I switched it was Chris Rock or Kevin Hart talking about the lack of diversity. Sounded like a lot of whining to me, and not very funny. I saw Rylance (?) win instead of Stallone, and that's about it. Now have some movies to watch, I guess.

Yes, there were a few surprises. We had a 12 question ballot and usually the winner gets 11 right. Last night four ladies tied with 9...no one won the tie breaker. I got 8. Should have gone with my heart on Best Supporting Actor and with Best picture. I would have won outright. I usually try think how Hollywood would vote...big mistake!....LOL P.S. Thought last night was one of the more lackluster Oscars.
