Hi Ken. I live in Rochester, NY, Monroe County, zone 5. We planted our first tree, the one that is giving us alarm, six years ago and it a beautiful, maybe 7 to 8 feet tall, tree. We have had a wonderful summer, not too much humidity. Have done nothing as far as spreading weed killer, etc. on lawn. I think the second link shows all six trees. We did have a longer, colder winter than usual though.

WHY MORE JUNIPERS???? why do they HAVE TO BE junipers... i have some green giants near a 200 foot line of 30 year old grey owl look alikes.. and frankly .. the difference in texture is very pleasing ... i understand the upright part.. just not the monoculture of junipers ... if you move away from the requirement of juniper.. there are a lot of really cool upright plants .. the sky is the limit ... and bluer.. and more resistant to the plagues of junipers .... but hey.. its your garden.. knock yourself out ... good luck ken Here is a link that might be useful: lots of junipers

Thanks yall! There really is no special "story" behind this mirror. I just started glueing down the blue section and it turned into an arrow. Most of the squares are left overs from other projects. The smallest ones, however, were cut just for this. I wanted to do a different design from anything I'd done before. I completed the arrow, then decided to glue some glass globs on 2 sides. Then, I had to figure out how to balance all that visual weight. Thats when the block of amber glass happened in the upper right corner. Then, I added the one green Van Gogh tile to add more interest.

Do you by chance recommend a specific landscape program, Ron? I'd be interested in checking one out but they all seem to have "meh" reviews. My last few days have been insane busy but once I have more time again I can see myself doing the Juxtaposer (that's the app's name) thing for many hours, ha. And yes it's on my phone (iPad too, and easier to edit on the bigger screen but I've done so many on the phone that I'm kinda used to it). Before your suggestion of the landscape program got me to thinking about it though, my edits were pretty much just to switch people's heads, or replace them altogether with animal heads ... never fails to make me laugh. When husband saw what I used it for this time he smiled and rolled his eyes and said "oh here we go" : ) That ACS thing is hysterical. I did actually join the real ACS last summer and love the magazines, though I've yet to do anything other than read it. I'd love to visit some of the local-ish members' gardens sometime but so far it hasn't worked out time-wise. Kids are little, makes mama busy, and time is what there's never enough of. They're both starting to love "helping" though and that's awesome. The 4-year-old just puts on his gloves and saves all the worms that get dug up, but I'll take that. Worms are precious after all!
