Update! Remember that ornate dresser from CL?
Comments (37)Vampire, great to hear! I was hoping that the colors would come off as more mature. "Elegant" is good to hear. Nanabella, I love your Wedgewood analogy! Beth, I know what you mean. This is the only piece of painted furniture in my house unless you count my gold nightstands. But this is completely new territory for me. It feels like a fun creative challenge. Franksmom, thanks! If plan B didn't work, I was thinking about offering it to one of my nieces to paint up fun. Glad it did though because I really need the storage. Justgotabeme, don't worry! The wood is nicely protected under 3 coats of paint. :O) I know you aren't a fan of painted furniture so it means a lot that you like it. LOL, thanks Cooper. I would love to be the queen of something other than the kitchen. :O)...See MoreUpdate to my Ethan Allen Worth post
Comments (10)Scammers! They are usually "fine with the price and condition" even though they have not yet seen the item in person. Are often in the process of moving into whatever town you're posting from and want to arrange for a shipper to pick up. They write like English is a second language and appear to be in a hurry. They want to deal in cashier checks and ask for your contact information. With my ad they often asked to see photos even though I posted the two photo collages shown above plus offered a link to my Photobucket site with several closeup photos. Below is a typical scam email format... Hello Am okay with the price and the condition and i will like to make an outright purchase of this particular item immediately because i noticed that you are serious seller, I anticipate that a cashier or certified check will be sent to you via express mail or ups as the mode of payment, concerning the pick up, i will be responsible for that, where my mover will come for the pick up at your location upon your confirmation of receiving the payment. So i will send the payment which will include the pick up charges in which you will make payable to the mover immediately you receive the payment to aviod the delay.Would really love to come for the viewing but due to my work frame that might not be Possible..and I will like you to provide the information below so that the payment will be done as soon as possible:- 1...................Full name 2...................Full home address 3...................Zipcode 4...................Tel#. Awaits your response asap. Best Regards....See MoreResponses to missing post/update on Kitchen saga- Long Post!
Comments (1)They newer photos of your paint look pretty close to my kitchen and family room walls. :-) Don't worry about the mini-novel. It's the cheapest therapy there is, and if you can get a laugh in here or there, pretty good medicine too. You're doin' good!...See MoreUpdate to my painful drape/rod post
Comments (123)Val - Thanks! So you think I should get a different pillow and throw for the wing chair? I'll admit I don't love that planter I just had a hard time finding anything. A different style? Not an urn type? Big, wide pot? I've thought about a coffee table. Even found one on CL awhile back I considered getting. I think I'm going to hold off though. I could see it easily becoming a place for STUFF to collect. Plus I don't want it to start feeling cramped. I may get one in time though. Wantoretire - I never thought of a dowel rod. Really think that would work? Thanks for the idea and the compliment! Funky - Since the carpet isn't even a year old I don't think I can bring myself to put a rug on there yet. If it were worn pretty bad and we didn't have the money to replace it, then maybe. Plus I think I'd need a pretty large rug, and what about the pattern since my futniture is, eee I cringe at the thought of finding "the one". Ha there would be many posts on here. I agree it would help to tie it together. However, the money we're spending in a couple weeks to have all the carpet FIXED (thank you Shaw) I could buy a nice rug. :) Maybe sometime down the road. I painted the returns today. They look much better! I'll have to post a picture later. Scoobyruby - That is a beautiful pillow! You are bad! I probably could bring myself to spend that on a pillow but DH ...haha. He would think I lost it. Ya know, I think you're the person on here that really got into pheasants all of a sudden. 1 year ago I wouldn't of looked twice at a pheasant or any type of bird print, etc. I find it interesting that this forum had kind of help mold me into my decorating style. Getting back on track, do you think I should still keep the other pillows on the couch except for the matching one in the middle, and try and find a kidney shaped lighter pillow to tie everything together. I will say I was looking at the room again today and IRL the sofa and loveseat have the gold color that matches the bronze/gold pillows exact but looking at the whole room it kind of looks like the tan color of the wing chair. What about the main wall with the web chair? Should any art go there or no?...See Morewantonamara Z8 CenTex
