No Petunias as far as I can see.

Call me an old cynic but you need to be aware that this picture has been manipulated to enhance the colours and the whole ensemble is a bit of a fantasy for the realistic gardener. What will it look like in a month's time? And what did it look like a month before?

You have such a good eye! Thank you so much, floral! I do believe the image was manipulated, just as you suspected. An artist uploaded it to their site. I doubt my garden will look quite so good, but it's a gorgeous garden plan, nonetheless, I think. I won't really know until I look into all the "specs" of light and height and moisture. I wonder if Astilbe really grows that high, in any variety?

Perhaps not all of them actually bloom at the same time too. But it sure is pretty. Agree the colors have been charged up a bit.

I don't grow Echinacea so I'm not sure of its likes and dislikes. But Astilbes need a lot of moisture. Can anyone tell us if having the two next to each other would work?

they do. Astilebes can thrive in dry conditions but may not look so great. they do well against coneflowers.
