Shampoo and Conditioner
Comments (13)I have hair that's fair-colored, naturally curly, & fine to medium textured, so it's easy to damage, & naturally dry in our hot & dry to hot & humid climate (central Arkansas). I was told I needed something with a lot of natural moisturizing ingredients, and I started buying TCB ethnic and Aussie Moist shampoos & conditioners again after using many different expensive salon brands for a year or more. But, I love Dove's new 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner! It's great for when I stay with relatives & in-laws, or on the go (i.e. at gyms & public pools) all of which where showers & bathroom time are limited....See MoreDry shampoo for brunettes
Comments (17)A local male hairstylist has super curly, coarse hair. He wrote an article for a local magazine that said if you go through the motions of washing your hair (fingers to scalp, rubbing motions) that you are stimulating oil production and by doing so, you can actually stop using shampoo/conditioner on a regular basis - unless your hair is actually dirty. He said it takes a couple of weeks, and yes your hair starts looking dirty (try it when you have the flu or something! lol) but that your scalp will stop producing all the extra oil and your hair will be healthier for it. The oils move down the hair, away from the scalp. A client of his tried it and she has long, thick hair. It's never looked healthier. When I was younger, I could go a week w/o washing my hair with shampoo. That didn't mean I didn't get it wet on other days. Just meant I didn't get sweaty or dirty. I wash mine every other day. Daily if it needs it due to heat, etc. I could actually get by with every three days. DD2s hair look healthier now that she is not washing it daily (uses the baby powder at night), but due to her oily skin she has to wash it every other day....See MoreDoes dry shampoo really work?
Comments (14)I've used both PSSSSSST and Tresseme dry shampoos in a pinch. They work "okay" to remove excess oil from your hair, but there is nothing like that "fresh-washed" feeling from a regular shampoo. Once when we were having our bathroom re-modeled,and our bathroom was under construction for 3 weeks, I went to a local beauty shop for a shampoo only. It was worth the cost (not much). And how did I shower? I didn't, I used baby wipes from the drug store....See MoreDry Shampoo
Comments (8)I use Suave Professionals or currently the Suave Keratin. (Both found at Walmart.) The key is to shake it really well...lift hair up and do quick short sprays at the roots...rub in..run fingers through your hair and then brush or comb. Takes a few minutes to "soak" in. I do not wash my hair every day..so use this one to two days in a row between washes....See Moresheilajoyce_gw
