I would drive around other neighborhoods and find color combinations that make you smile. I do like the darker color on the bottom half of the house and lighter on top. Go to a paint store and get a brochure on exterior colors; see which ones please you. What color is your roof?

Thanks Grover, I was actually going to paint the frieze board to match the fence colour in a few weeks as they are doing some general painting around. The fence will also lighten over the next few months as exterior paint does a bt - hope that sounds ok :P :)

You are right to be concerned about the paint color clashing. I went through this with my gray bathroom tiles. I wouldn’t up color matching the lighted gray in the tile at Home Depot. BM and SW wouldn’t even try. furst thought, I brought hone all the popular grays. And while they were nice unto themselves, they clashed with the tiles. What floor do you have? inhave Coretec Hayes in my Florida hone. We did a creamy white. You aren’t stuck with gray for the walls unless you truly want gray. Can you post a photo?
