I had to load "Ad Block" and "Script Block" on Fire Fox just to keep this site viewable. It is a shame when such a great site would rather sell out to commercials and harass its real supporters. I have joined Jon's site and hope to see all the wonderful folks from here over there too. I will still visit here but will shift my loyalties to the "Encanto Forum". Herman you should have your web site back up, you have just as much right to it as they do to their site, you are not competing with GW or its advertisers. Just this incident should have generated enough publicity to get you started and hopefully by word of mouth and email create some business for you. Don't give up! Woody.

Hi Mike G, I visited your web page. Wow! A lot of your life is covered there. I appreciate your service in Vietnam and it really made me contemplate the era. I was too young to really understand the issues at the time. Regarding your irises, I think it's fantastic that you use a city lot. How cool is that? The public benefits by beauty created for free. The retiring of this thread will be a siginificant loss to the culture of the GW Kitchen Forum, in my opinion. It orginated from a community perception of the need to organize and preserve valuable shared knowledge about kitchen renos. Buehl stepped up and organized - and then faithfully maintained the thread over its many incarnations. And all of us watched out for it and threw in the needed bumps to keep it visible on the front page. We often referred newbies to it, confident it would be there for them, as it had been for many of us when we started out. This thread perfectly matched the down-to-earth, problem-solving atmosphere of the KF in a way that having most of the same content parked up in a static thread by the management will not. I will miss it. Though I can imagine Buehl will be glad of having it off her shoulders and out of her care. Thank you (again) Buehl! Liriodendron

Oh Buehl, I have just spent 10 minutes getting all examples into this post to illustrate how many ways I have tried to link into GW from photobucket....Then the thing jumped to the main kitchen page and all my text is gone. This happens a lot to me. Other things that happen are that when I am adding a "link" into the "link" button below, it does not insert the link into the text where my cursor is set. I will try again. When I use the pasting of the photobucket "share link" into the text, like I did before in old GW, they are just text and not hot linked (green). When I link them to the link button below, the link is hot. In addition, when I copy the Photobucket "share link(s)" ("email&IM"; "Direct"; "HTML"; and "URL") into the "link" option below, it auto copies into the upper box of the "Link" option as well as the intended spot for the link in the bottom box. I have to "control"+A to highlight the text in the upper spot so I can delete it, and type in my title to my link. There seems to be a lot going on that isn't working with my Mac OS and Houzz. And there are others.
