Dones anyone have the GE dual fuel model C25985SETSS range? I am looking at this and am concerned about the stainless stove top? Anyone have experience with this? I love that it is free standing but yet looks like a slide in. I like that the large oven is on top and the smaller one on the bottom because I don't think I could lift the turkey from the bottom!!! All the reviews seem to be good with the exception of the stainless top is easy to scratch. Can anyone advise me on this? Thanks so much for taking the time to help!

I've had the GE Cafe Duel Fuel range since the end of May. I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to have a backsplash behind your range. Mine does not go all the way back to the wall. I wish it did, but with the gas connection the piping juts out from the wall so that my range can't go back all the way. My range actually juts out at least 2.5" from the wall. Unfortunately, that causes the sides of my range to show (about 2"). When I asked the installer (from the gas company), he said that the pipe had to be that way. I didn't have time to question him - we were in a time crunch and literally only had two hours to get the thing installed. When I eventually renovate my kitchen though, I'm going to ask about that. That said, the depth of the range, not including the door, is 24" and with the door, it is 26". I don't have a backsplash currently behind my range, but there is one above my counter. It's only about 1/2" deep so even if my range were pushed all the way back, that particular backsplash shouldn't have interfered if it went all the way across. The only thing I do notice is that the fan from the oven is across the back of the stove and rises about 1.5" from the top of the stove. It's flush with the back of the range though, so it still shouldn't impede the range from being against the wall. Am I making sense? However, I am no expert so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I just thought I'd provide you with the actual measurements. Hope that helps! BTW, so far, I love the range!

I got a DCS duel fuel range with five burners. I usually use the center burner only. It is much easier to clean up and the grease and grime are kept in the stove top and not on the surrounding counters and front floor. I use to clean up everywhere but with doing cooking at center burner; it makes cleaning much simpler and quicker. I do wok cooking mostly!

Hey bb, I have the dual fuel and love it. But I would never attempt to bake or roast in the bottom drawer. I mostly use that to keep things warm or cook frozen food. For example, that's where I cook boxed appetizers and that sort of thing if it needs to be on a different temp than what I am cooking in the main oven. The bottom drawer takes a long time to heat up, and is so close to the floor I worry that it's not too safe to have it at a high temperature for a very long time. Be sure and give it 20 minutes to preheat that bottom drawer. The main oven, however is is very responsive. The main oven is great, I love the size. No problem fitting a turkey and some of the sides, The convection roast is powerful. The thermometer probe is easy to use and fail-proof. I love to bake and use the convection bake often, no more having to switch out cookie trays. everything seems to brown evenly. My old oven was not convection, and I'd have to switch the top sheet to the bottom to keep all the cookies baking evenly, and that always cooled the oven down. I have not used the middle burner much, but fyi that does not get a very high flame, so it is of limited use. All that being said, I definitely recommend it. I would get it again. I have had it for about 4 years and had a hard time finding a 30" I liked. It was recommended to me by a chef who had a small home kitchen. I'm remodeling now and am considering keeping this since I don't really have that much space on my oven wall. I like it that much. Hope this helps! Enjoy the new house :)
