Aloe Vera have a tough skin that is easy to wash, just like your apples, oranges, cucumbers etc. If you leave them outside in the rain most of the year then anything that was ever on them has been rinsed away. The greater concern is for scraping or cutting out those yellow veins of latex on the inside surface of the leaves while you're trying to get the gel out. That stuff can be a very powerful, even painful, laxative (but it'll sure detox your a$$ if you're worried about something you et). To remove the gel I split the leaf open lengthwise and scrape the gel out gently with a table spoon, being careful not to get into the yellow veins. I find it's easy to drink if I mix it with citrus juice. Most citrus juice, including lemonade and certainly all those so-called "sports drinks", are too acidic for my stomache so mixing in aloe juice cuts the acidity and make the aloe drinkable. I always use aloe juice when making lemonade. My Aloe-ade recipe 1/2Q (16oz) Lemon Juice 2Q (1/2Gal or 64Oz) Aloe juice 1 cup sugar 1-1/2Q (approx) water to make up to 1 Gallon Aloe/Lemonade

The soil felt crumbly, but after i put universal soil together with the soil in which was the aloe planted i've put some warm water ( at the room temperature ) on the plate beneath the vase and on the base of the plant. I am from Europe, in the S-E zone of Roumania and the plant i'll put it in a place of my home where i know it gets plenty of light. But i didn't refer to the color of the suculent that it got whiten out ( the orange circle -and i know that's pretty bad too - ) i meant that all the white spots circled with blue weren't there when i first bought the plant, is there a way i could treat them?

It looks like a very "messy" example of one type I grew in most places I lived. I was told that it's good for internal pain (among other things), eg bones, mucles... I tried it and it seemed to work on me. So I used it while the kids were still home. Each time we moved I'd find another same Aloe in the area. So I'd break of a branch, from the back if I could, just stuck it in the ground and it always grew. I'm not sure about the "aloin" though, maybe we were just lucky. Better check it before using. For years I've been looking for an online scource for the medicinal uses for the different species of aloe. Those that have those uses anyway. If anyone knows of any I would love for someone to provide a link or a name. Our whole family suffer from sensitive skin ailments. Thanks
