Dual Fuel or all gas range? Opinions please...
Comments (7)I think there are differences in brands even among electric convection ovens as well as gas convection ovens. They all are a little different in the way they roast/bake so unless you can try them out it is hard to compare. They will also vary according to the way the individual uses them. I really like my electric convection ovens and would get them again. They are two different brands and are each a little different. If you broil a lot then I would get all gas but if you bake large amounts and fill up the oven, the third convection element is supposed to keep the oven temp more even. I like the various modes and being able to direct the heat from top or bottom. I have baked in all kinds of ovens over a long time and you can make any of them work but it just depends on what you bake/roast/broil and what will make that easier....See MoreWolf Dual Fuel range owner...
Comments (16)YouÂve probably read my posts before but here it goes. >>>Wolf Dual Fuel Range owner... How do you like your range? What do you like about it or vice versa? Repairs? Service issues? IÂm donÂt own a duel fuel because I could never justify the extra cost for what I consider to be a marketing gimmick. The range burners are very good, no repairs or service needed on two different stoves over 15 years. >>>I like the griddle but I heard great things about the infrared grill too. Is it hard to clean? To clean the grill: 1) Turn it on high let it run for 10 minutes 2) Brush it off with a grill bush Mine is a high use one, I clean wipe out below the grates every 2 weeks, that takes about 2 minutes with a wet cloth and then do a through cleaning twice a year. NOTE: The griddle is harder to keep clean than the grill. Grill or Griddle???????? That depends upon YOU and what you cook. Write down a list of what you would cook over a month and then see which one you will use more. If itÂs not a huge difference than get the grill and buy a griddle that sits upon your burners and have the best of both worlds. The wolf infrared Char-broiler is one of the main reasons I brought this unit, it is a top of the line unit that is not comparable to any others except American ranges. >>>From another GardenWeb thread, Miele oven seems to be superior over the Wolf; do you have problems with your oven below the stove? (i.e. some had mentioned the blue oven interior fading/flaking) Could be, any electric oven that is self-cleaning undergoes high heat for several hours, that puts extra strain on the coatings and the parts themselves, personally it is another gimmick I donÂt see a need for. I have American Range double wall ovens (gas), if I went electric I would seriously consider the GE Profile series. >>>I am also considering a wolf rangetop (open burner) and a separate wall oven ( partly because I find it easier to operate the oven while standing upright than bending down; however, my husband prefers the grand look of a 48" or 60" freestanding range. ThatÂs a personal choice, if I went the cooktop route and no grill I would probably get a Bluestar and one of the ovens I mentioned above. If I wanted a great grill I would get the wolf....See MoreAny info re:Samsung Dual Fuel "Flex Duo" 2-door range NY58J9850WS/AA ?
Comments (5)Okay, while not installed I did get the electrics wired up so the oven was available. We decided to do a test with a frozen degarno pizza in the upper oven. Quickly found a weakness at least in my opinion. The upper oven uses what would be broiler elements in a full oven for heat. This rapidly over cooked the pizza top while leaving the crust near raw. We put it back in covered with foil to cook the crust. Crispy pepperoni,. Yuuummmmm. I've no idea if normal double oven ranges cook the same way. The rack was on the lower of the two available positions with the divider installed. Maybe if we had put the pizza on the divider itself it would have not been as bad. I don't know. Something to try next time. For now it seems that upper oven dishes will have to be covered. This was on convection bake a few degrees below where we typically set our old oven. Perhaps it should have been lower still. The old oven was not convection so not much experience there. My overall impression as to appearance, fit and finish remain good. The oven vents out the back left of the range top surface. It is fan driven and the noise is very noticeable. The sudden blower noise may just have been a surprise since our old electric oven vent didn't use a fan. The burner grids are nice and heavy though not as heavy as some of the other mid price ranges I saw. They do provide a continuous surface for sliding pots around. I like the big top burner control knobs and the up front control panel that doesn't stick way out as on some slide in models. Looking forward to getting the gas hooked up. Love the looks of the big front right duel heat 22000 BTU burner....See MoreNeed help with Verona Double Oven Dual Fuel Range VEFSGE 365 NDSS
Comments (0)Just moved into a home with a Verona oven. Have the owners manual but not answering specific questions... maybe someone here can? I purchased an internal oven thermometer since the Verona doesn’t have a digital temp readout. So that has helped... can anyone tell me which setting they use for baking? bake, conv bake, fan oven,? and which rack do you bake on? I’m doing ok with cooking...it’s just the baking (which is more precise) any helpful hints/tips are much appreciated! Thank you!...See Morebrdrl
