Anyone know of a Secret Violet Nursery?
Comments (11)Morning, Hi Aegis, What do you consider new? I can't recall the year, 'perhaps 7-8-yrs-ago,' our local grocery store had a true blue, smallish, bell-flower AV. It was much fussier than other AV's. I posted a photo here on GW, but no one could make an ID. Since it didn't have a label, I don't know which nursery it was shipped. It might have been Optimara. Optimara plants are sold here and have been for years. After researching on Google, I found Optimara AV's, Belle series. I 'assumed' the blue AV was Optimara. Long story short, 3-years ago I received a plant from an online nursery, 'not AV' which had mealy eggs. So, of course, my AV's went in the trash. I wish I could find another of the same type. One seller had Isabella, but it sold fast. Although Isa is pretty, I have my heart set on Blue Bells. The seller has Isa leaves, but he wants 9.00 for shipping! Hi Terri...Whenever I go grocery shopping or BBS's, I look for bell-shaped AV's. Unfortunately, I haven't seen these violets since the blue-bell at the grocery store. Most stores here sell the same, old, common plants. Thanks for responding. I'll continue searching. :) Toni...See MoreAnyone know the status of Bethlehem Nursery?

Comments (0)Hello everyone! Happy New Year to you all 2010 WOW, I never thought this far ahead as a kid LOL. How time flies!! anyhow, I've been reading through the recent post and noticed that Mahoney's Nursery (way too far out for me in southern connecticut) is having a great sale and wondered if anyone knew of perhaps something closer to me that also is having a good clearance sale? I'm in Ansonia about 15 minutes from New haven/Yale campus ,I have a completely new garden so I need everything, trellises, planters ( really would like two huge ones and they are sooooo ridiculousely expensive ) statuary, supplies , yep everything. I'd love to hear about which nurseries in the area are well stocked with nice plants too! the only one I've visited has been Barreta, nice stuff but never seen them have a sale all year. I can't wait to start this year, last year I was so busy with my husband renovating the inside of the house that the outside ended up looking like a waste land with rocks and dirt, so sad. I can't wait to have photos of my own garden!!! :))...See MoreDoes anyone know anything about this nursery?
Comments (5)After reading reviews and checking out what appears to be the actual online nursery website, I might be interested in visiting the greenhouse if I was in the area but would forego ordering online. It sounds from the reviews like you might get really nice plants, but also might get bad stock with no recourse. From the website FAQ: "Can I return an item that is damaged, defective?Sorry, no returns are accepted, all sales are final, all merchandise including all plant material is inspected for damage before packing, if you would like your package insured, please notify us by email and we will insure at your cost, when the package leaves our facility our responsibility ends. We will exercise care to have all plants true to size and name. We give no warranty expressed or implied as to the fitness for any particular use of the stock we sell. It is agreed that the original price shall be the maximum damages the purchaser is entitled to." http://www.accentsforhomeandgarden.com/faq.html It didn't sound from the reviews I read that they were eager to give out refunds....See Moreroseseek
