Good or Bad Idea To Root Spider Plant Babies In Same Container?

Hi,

I have an indoor Spider Plant (my first). Started from a "spiderette" about a year ago, and up-potted into a gritty-type mix (no fungus gnats here!) last fall. Available light is not the greatest, but it seems quite happy, and lately is putting out multiple stolons with flowers.

Most growth is up and out from the base of the plant - guess that's expected. So leaves don't cover all of the surface of the wider container it's growing in.

I'm curious if you think it a good idea to root babies in the same container as the parent. I can imagine both a very full pot, and severe root entanglement.

Thanks.
