Cactus/ Succulent ID needed

Had this cactus for almost a year now and it's grown quite a lot despite me forgetting to water it a few times.
Hoping someone could identify what species it is as I'm planning on using it's propagated leaves for a biology experiment in a week or so.
The leaves are a pale green and fades to a sort of blue-ish green at the tips.

I think is a Graptopetalum paraguayense. It needs more light.

I agree with Cristina, but just wanted to add the common name(s) if you're interested. It goes by mother of pearl and ghost plant, but as with most common names, there are other plants that go by ghost plant so this can lead to confusion.

Also you may want to get it some faster draining soil so it doesn't stay moist too long or it could lead to rot. The type of soil you have also tends to become hydrophobic (meaning it will basically repel water) if it's too dry and can be hard to re-wet thoroughly.

The cactus looks like some type of Mammiallria. Possibly M. mystax but I can't see it very well. These 2 plants have slightly different optimal growing conditions and could be difficult to keep both alive and happy.

Thanks for the quick responses. Ill definitely be pulling up the weed. @zach I remember someone mentioning when I first asked about it, something about "hahnii", and I was able to locate a picture of it and it was a perfect match to the ones I have. Is that going to be similar to Dwarf Sanseveria?

You could add both - I know Lena said it is not necessary (and it isn't an absolute must), but anything that will make the mix more porous is a plus. Especially if you are heavy waterer or if your plants are outdoors where it rains more often. I don't remember if you mentioned your general location (it is good to indicate by your name - as you can see most ppl do); I am in Ontario, Canada and have to bring plants inside for the winter but keep them all outdoors otherwise. All my succulents are in a mix of grit+perlite+turface and have been for almost 4 years now.

Thanks, Liz and socks! Yes, I repotted the cactus and yesterday was the first time it got some water, so the soil shrunk - I will definitely top up. When I was searching online I came across the Christmas tree cactus, it was a good candidate - now that Liz is mentioning it, I think it might be indeed a Austrocylindropuntia subulata monstrose. I got it from IKEA and I am not ashamed to admit it :) Seems like the plants from there last longer. I don't want to flood the forum, so I will ask the next question here - I bought an E. Perle von Nurnberg and it literally wilted OVERNIGHT. I am not kidding. I bought it, it seemed fine, brought it home, did not water it, the next morning the lower leaves were the wrinkly yellow-ish and limp sign of overwatering. I have discarded the leaves, repotted with a hefty amount of perlite in a slightly larger pot and am thinking about beheading. Never tried it yet though. Right now it is a bit wobbly, because the soil is dry and aerated, and the poor thing is like a danglyhead without its lower leaves. Would it be fine if I behead it now, or should I wait for it to get over the shock of changing homes first?
