Zucchini questions part the second
Comments (7)It also depends on what kind of zucchini you planted. Different varieties will have different results. Below is a link to a trial done by the Master Gardeners of Santa Clara Co, CA, on summer squash (yellow crooknecks and others as well as zukes). They compared varieties for taste, texture, ease of picking, time from planting to first harvest (a range from about 40 to 70 days, depending on variety), harvest size (most varieties produced somewhere between 50 and 150 squash, with the total weight of harvest being between 50 and 100 pounds of squash, depending on the variety), etc. It didn't say how long it will continue producing, but like with everything else, it probably depends on the variety. See if the variety you planted is on the list, and see what it says. I don't know how long one plant will continue producing. I've never really kept track of when they peter out in the fall. Comments (22)C'mon Mikie, this is silly. Yes, Broadband reports is a legit website, but this wasn't an item they reported, it was a forum post. Forums have no reputation, they're forums. Secondly, if you read more than the first few sentences of a page full of comments, you'll find what was alleged was viewed as an aberration caused by a rare configuration error. Indeed, it's mentioned that the Docsis standard provides security. Grandms, what mikie is suggesting (but not substantiating) and that I remain unconvinced of, is that there is a security risk down the wire. WPA is security for a Wifi signal, something completely different. Whew....See MoreOld laptop won't connect to linksys E1000 router
Comments (21)zep et. al.: Sorry I didn't get back sooner but with my limited experience, I was a little leary of doing the uninstall of network adapter. However I finally realized that at worst it would only mess up the laptop and not the other devices that are connected and working on the secured network. So: I just uninstalled and rebooted. The adapter did reinstall but I am still not getting a proper connection although things have slightly changed. The secured network got connected, but did not even ask for the security password and simply went to 'validating identity' and simply hung. It didn't even time out. I checked firefox to see if it was expecting a password there, as was the initial case to get connected to the Guest Network (where I am again now), but it couldn't find the server. You may recall, that previously the issue was that the secured net would ask for the password, but find it unacceptable and give 'limited or no connectivity. Is there a way to force the network to ask for the password?? Any other ideas? Eventually, I will probably find a way to get a knowledgeable person out to my house where they could diagnose this. FYI, I am creating another post about security updates that may tangentially be connected to this thread. I apparently successfully installed sp3 but 'security update' keeps wanting to install it AGAIN! I was worried I might not be able to shut down to reload the adapter, but I was able to cancel the update....See MoreConnecting laptop using only my cable connection
Comments (32)Katy, Sure hope you enjoy that new Wireless Keyboard/Mouse. What Brand did you buy? I've always liked the Logitech Line the best. I started with the original Logitech 3 Button Wireless Mouse (still have it). My first Wireless Keyboard (not sure of the brand name) was Infrared and it was horrible, had to have it pointing towards the receiver at all times. I have the MX5500 Combo hooked up to my Desktop Computer right now, best Logitech has ever made (it's Bluetooth and has a great range)(very pricey, think it cost me around $170)! Once you've tried Wireless Keyboard/Mouse Combos you'll never go back! BTW, Windows 10 Updates are nothing to worry about. They've been coming for many, many years and will continue to come. I've had a couple minor problems, but really nothing to get excited about. I have Windows 10 on 5 Laptops, 1 Desktop and 1 Tablet, all running great! It's good that Microsoft is staying on top of any problems! When there are just so many different varieties of computers out there with so many different components, you really just have to wonder how they don't have more problems then they do? You've really got to give them credit! Since you're going to Buy a New All-In-One Desktop, I'd just go ahead and get it with Windows 10 Preinstalled! I'm sure there won't be any problems with a New Computer w/Windows 10. Most of the problems are with Older Computers that are being Upgraded to Windows 10 and the older software that's already installed....See MoreElmer J Fudd
