Long shot question...but, here goes...
Comments (3)You aren't going to find any "rental agency" out there for this but you may luck into someone willing to let you use a corner of their land. The problem with fruit growing is it is a long-term thing so you either need a long-term lease or to find someone you trust who won't decide they are "their" fruit trees once you have them all big and producing. Also nobody is going to want to go through the hassle of a lease for such a small chunk of land. They also might not trust you to have you on their land. So its all about trust. One other possibility is to find some community with some scraggly community land which you would agree to clear and put an attractive orchard on and maintain neatly for the forseeable future. There were several threads recently here on how to insert pictures, use the search tool and you should be able to find them. Comments (7)I have a retrofit bd in my pond. 4" pipe , pipe boot through the liner about 18" down from maximum full. I have a fernco fitting on this so that I can remove my bd for the winter. (very cold here in winter). If you plumb a retrofit up and over the liner to your pump you will probably have problems with priming the pump as can create an air pocket. The pipe between the liner and my sc is reduced from 4" to 3" then followed by a 3" knife valve before entering the sc--another pipe boot fitting here. I reduced the pipe as 3" knife valves are cheaper than 4" and I could find them here. Water goes into a 350 gal sc that has matala mats in it. I put a 90 elbow, not glued on the inlet into the sc so that the water coming in could be directed towards the side of the sc to get more of a swirling effect. Outlet is 2" fittings to external pump. I have one of those small 2" cone looking filters on my outlet to keep any fish that do the bd swim from going into the pump. It also catches algae so the fitting is screwed in and not glued so that I can clean as needed. Next year I am going to change out my bd dome which was my old Tetra dome to the Aquaart retrofit. It sits closer on the bottom of the pond. My drain lifts--probably because of the draw on it and even a 6" goldfish has done the drain swim. Pump is a Sequel 4800 gph but also draws from the skimmer. My check valve is after the pump and before the valves on the waterfall lines....See Morefor all you drawer fans... questions about drawer bottoms
Comments (18)Thank you all for your comments - it's very helpful to hear all the different points of view. Just as an FYI for anybody else considering Omega Dynasty, I called the cabinet store and asked if there was a way to upgrade the Dynasty drawer bottoms from 1/4" to 3/8" plywood for an extra charge... and was told that no, that is not possible within the Dynasty line. The saleswoman said that in order to get a 3/8" drawer bottom, we would have to move up to full custom Omega cabinets (rather than Omega Dynasty), and that doing so would mean a price increase of 40-50% relative to the Dynasty cabinets. A 40-50% upcharge would put the cabinets out of our budget range, so after reading everybody's inputs and contemplating our choices some more, currently we are thinking that those 1/4" plywood bottoms won't stop us from ordering Omega Dynasty cabinets after all. Best regards to all, r.a....See Moredrdeb1234
