question about IKEA Domsjo double sink...anyone????????????
Comments (10)I have attached three pics. I don't have the specs for either the sink or my faucet at this point but maybe these will help you figure out your concerns. I am betting the center of the single hole is right at 3 inches from the back of the sink. If it helps, my faucet is a Price Pfister Ashfield model. You should be able to get the specs online. Here's an overall shot of the tolerances I have with a tape measure in place... Here's a shot of just the space behind my riser... Here's a shot of the space left in front of my riser... Like I said, if the shot isn't good enough to tell, when I look in person, near as I can figure the center of the hole would be right at 3" away from the wall. Hope this helps. Comments (5)I think the prices your friend has asked for are reasonable - even a good buy for the sink. I bought a floor model after the sink was discontinued for $580. At the time (almost a year ago) the best online price I could find was $676. Those deep sinks are expensive! I paid $38.50 for my sink grid on eBay but typical online price was $95. I haven't checked lately, but I think that grid is still available. My dishwasher is to the right of the sink, perpendicular to the sink counter, closest to the small sink with the disposer. My faucet is Blanco Anu. I love the high arc but find the pullout style awkward. Once pulled out, it is hard to aim the water spray where it is needed. I would suggest looking for a pulldown style, instead. (There's an active thread about pullout versus pulldown faucets that you may want to view, too.) I don't notice much splashing from the small sink. Rather, the tall faucet seems to splash more in the large sink and on the divide between the sinks. I don't find that a major problem - just a quick wipe with the sponge and all is neat again. The stainless does seem to show water spots easily. I've tried a couple of stainless cleaners and the Weimar polish seems to do the best job of preventing water spots. You do need to wipe off the water, though, when you are through using the sink. And our water is very hard....See MoreIKEA Domsjo sink question
Comments (7)I've got one (36" double bowl) sitting on the floor in my Dining room. I've measured it in just about every way a person could. I'll be home in about 2 hours, so if you don't have the info, I'll get it for you - and any other measures you want. I think it's like 2" - our cabs are 25" deep (instead of 24") and it will still stick out enough not to look "stupid"....See MoreIkea Domsjo Double Sink- old size vs. new size; garbage disposal
Comments (13)I don't think youll be able to fit a trashcan on the same side as the garbage disposal. On the other side, it should fit. With that said, I would advise against getting the drawer pullout for the trash for two reasons. One being, if there is a leak, big or small, your access to plumbing is limited unless you take out the entire pullout. And keep in mind where your plumbing is coming in from. Our water supplies were from the floor and out drain was through the wall. The water supply would have hit the back of the pullout. The sink cabinet is our only cabinet that we used doors for. We have drawers/pullouts for every other base cabinet in the kitchen. Two, it is my personal opinion that the workflow is off balance with the sink and garbage being in one cabinet. Generally if two people are in the kitchen, one will be by the sink (prepping, cleaning, etc), so access to the garbage for the other person is limited, unless the first person moves over. But, if space is tight and you can't find anywhere else to put a trash pullout, 'you gotta do what you gotta do!' We ended up using a 12 inch base cabinet with the wire pullout and moving the wire racks all the way down and putting an IKEA trash can with lid inside. Works well and takes up very little space. (also, I can't tell you how much we love our Domsjo sink and Wasteking!) Good luck!...See More- 8 years ago
