"Out of control" PC - MBAM related?

I have an 18 month old HP Envy (desktop) which I upgraded to Win10 2 months ago with no problems. It's protected with Avast (free), MBAM and SAS. This AM I updated MBAM and SAS. I downloaded Yahoo stock prices this evening and attempted to enter them into an Excel spreadsheet. That's when I became aware of the crazy gyrations, Simply opening the spreadsheet causes it to scroll right forever and ever. I can't stop it. It's even hard to close it. Then I noticed it doing the same thing on the desk top - hopping from icon to icon.

I updated MBAM and SAS again since it seemed like that's when the problem started. I've run scans with Avast, MBAM and SAS (all allegedly OK except for the usual hundreds of cookies). I rebooted. I deleted MBAM using Revco. Tried to delete SAS but it's not listed in Revco. Rebooted again. The problem persists.

Downloaded MBAM but couldn't get the program to "run". Did a search and found that a vunerability's been found in MBAM and they're working to fix it. So maybe my problem originated with the MBAM update this AM after all and even though I deleted it and did a "thorough" scan it still left a problem.

Meanwhile what can I do to get rid of whatever's taken over?

(This plea for help is being made via my Chromebook).
