Anyone have 3 stacked, kitchen appliances?
Comments (10)We had that set up for 27 years with our Thermador "option 3" It served us well, although with the warming drawer that low, you may be less likely to use it as often as you might with it higher up. This was ours just before we retired it last year, and went to a range instead... LOL, I just noticed the wooden spoon to keep the oven door closed! I used that method for about the last six months of it's life because of a broken door spring :)...See MoreKitchen cabinet config to ceiling...
Comments (3)Looks like 36" uppers, with 12" stacked, and 6" of molding for 9' ceilings. It would have looked more proportional for the muntins to use 30"s with 15's, and 6" of molding. That's nearer the 2/3 to 1/3 ideal ratio, and the squares of glass wouldn't have been quite so small on the uppers....See MoreAnyone have dark cabinets & chose medium dark wall paint?
Comments (7)Thanks for the suggestion. Only the opposite end walls, plus about 42" will even need paint. One exposed wall is about 5'w x 8'h, and the other is about 122" w, but 69" w of that is a double window. Oh, and there will be a small amount of about 12" showing above and an inch around the window over the sink. The backsplash area will also be painted for now (tiled later). What I suppose would be the more safe route would be to paint it all the medium tone and then after the cabs are in I can punch up the 5' wall with the deeper color if it needs it. Hmmm, now that I start talking about the space I realize that this wall will showcase a piece of artwork. I haven't done the painting yet, but I'm planning for it to include some brighter colors so perhaps the darker paint on that wall will end up being a good backdrop. Thanks for getting me thinking of alternative possibilities. ;)...See MoreGood sources for ledgestone or stacked stone
Comments (1)Look for a local stone yard rather than a "showroom". Most of the cost of stone is transportation, so you pretty much need to find a local source. Mail order is tough. If you are in a city you probably need to get a few miles out of town to find the places that will have a couple acres of bins of stone. It still won't be cheap, it costs a lot to move rocks. It helps to choose locally quarried material. If it needs to get hauled across the country or around the world it's not going to be cheap....See Morehousebuilding126
