Cracks keep coming back

*also posted this in buying/selling homes

We bought our dream home 2 years ago and recently noticed that several cracks we've repaired keep coming back. We've repaired cracks in the ceiling, between the molding and the ceiling, and also in the garage floor (there were several 1/2 inch cracks that were also not even) - now less than 10 months later the cracks in the drywall have reappeared and the crack in the garage is getting larger. He also noted that the molding had been caulked 2 or 3 times and was still splitting.

We had the foundation checked today and got the all clear. The guy said we likely have settling still occurring even though the house is 20 years old. He said the soil was likely not prepared correctly before pouring the foundation.

He said that although there weren't foundation issues, that we will likely continue to face these issues with the house settling. If it hasn't stopped settling 20 years later, then it won't stop any time soon. He suggested selling unless we wanted to constantly repair these issues over the years but my husband says absolutely not.
