When we updated the master bath we decided not to change the tile (housing market didn't justify the added expense) and because tile has been installed against the tub access panel we could not change the faucet. So, we ordered new handles and spout to fit the existing filler. Our glass installer HIGHLY recommended the U-channel since we did not have a groove for the glass. We selected 1/2 inch glass for its' additional heft which added to his strong recommendation. Also note the small corner piece to secure the corner at the very top. In our opinion it doesn't spoil the look. No leaks. Good luck with your remodel....See MoreGot my phone hooked up - So will be moving on over this weekend!
Comments (37)Have not read entire thread so forgive me if I am suggesting/asking stuff already covered. Not sure what area you are in but do you have good cell coverage? Could you do without a landline? Can you get internet thru satellite or cable? When I had small kids I would not give up landline in case of 911 emergencies. When they got to where I thought they could accurately report address I dropped landline and we all have cells as well as an emergency cell that is pay as you go. It is charged and sits in kitchen. Also a couple years ago our area allowed us to voluntarily register our cell numbers with our address. I have since made 911 calls and they asked are you calling from home and able to then connect us to our address. I know that I really like the savings! Best of luck in your new home. Again, if you have small kids the cheapest landline might be a good idea. Maybe this really isn't about what you are asking but just my thoughts....See MoreBathroom door hook finish?
Comments (1)I'd say its a toss up. I have black hinges on my door, and chrome everywhere else. I have a few black knobs on a free standing cabinet. antique looking knobs on my vanity that match the metal of my very nice mirror. My plumbing fixtures and towel rack is chrome. The reason for the black hinges is because of the neighboring room and the need to coordinate the door with that room. I think it might look nice with a ORB hook. Can you place cutout dark paper on the location for the hook, and then put up a piece of aluminum as the chrome, take pictures, and decide over a few days. Thats what I would do. I like my coordinated but varied mix of metals....See MoreHow to drill a hook into our wood exterior door without ruining it?
Comments (13)Sarah, you asked if there was any downside to having a wreath up all year long. I think that sounds pretty so don't think I am trying to discourage you. We have birds nesting in our Christmas wreath if we don't take it down soon enough in late winter. That sounds all "awww..." But birds poop. And the poop does nasty things to the door paint. Maybe you can work around that....See Moreravencajun Zone 8b TX
