Your plant is Sedum morganianum - burito or donkey tail. White fluffy stuff looks very much like mealy bugs - a bad bug. Hopefully you got them all, how did you clean them up? - just pruning? Pruning will not get rid of them; you need to spray whole plant to make sure you get them all - they hide very well in-between the leaves.

Wrinkly leaves are usually sign of under-watering.

I thought of mealy bugs too but they are not moving? I used tweezers to get them. What should I spray the plant with?

about the mealybugs...you may want to throw the soil away and use new soil mix. I had better results doing that.

Edit: Weird, didn't see the second post until just now. Those cottony balls arn't the mealybugs themselves, those are their eggsac things.

They have many stages and the easiest to catch one is when they look like a prehistoric bug.. Stripey slow moving things. They like young leaves and hate sunlight, so they hide in areas where there are no sunlight/hard for us to see them.

Diluted 50/50 rubbing alcohol and water spray (don't over water your plant) helps. If you're consistent...and change the soil.

Some people say neem oil.

If you use any fancy (to me that includes neem oil which I've never used), read the instructions and be careful about burning the plant (e.g. spray, and then expose to sunlight too quickly). And probably try not to breathe in the fumes/use some eye protection.

I have sprayed it with cologne 2 times. It is 80% alcohol but scented. I hope it doesn't kill the plant. What do you think about submerging the whole plant in soapy water? Some people suggest that on the internet.

Whoa cologne, might want to avoid using perfumed liquid as they may kill/stunt plants. I don't have any backup to support that but your sedum might absorb all the random components and suffer from it.

(Rubbing alcohol is easy to get from pharmacy/supermarkets) and put in a small spray bottle (the ones used to spray iphones/glasses) 50% of that and 50% water, or increase alcohol to 80% and 20% water, (up to you).

I try to put a plastic wrap on the soil so I don't inadvertently end up over-watering the plant (because I did that before by spraying).

I don't have any experience submerging plants but I think since your sedum is so thick and plentiful (really nice), you may want to do that to really eradicate the problem instead of coping with them very few weeks.

I know some experienced people on this forum know what chemicals to mix for submerging (I know soap + water, but might want to research what type of soap, I'm not sure if dishwasher fluid is too harsh. I've heard of insecticidal soap...)

Oh is thisthe thread you're referring to? I think it's pretty accurate, it explains why mealybugs seem to always comes back due to the different stages of mealybugs on your plant (in the soil in larvae form vs on the leaves in adult form). Looks like some good product recommendations on there.

I live in Turkey and its really hard to find isophsfda alcohol. I used skin cleansing alcohol today (70%). I hope my plants will be fine because I noticed the bugs on 2 other plants as well. I think most are dead now but my sedum looks terrible now because of all the pruning and its becoming a bit transparent!

Aww thank you so much! I feel terrible that i did it. I think Im getting plant-obsessive. If it becomes any worse I will just prune it down to bare stems and try to root the other parts.

It sounds like the skin cleansing alcohol maybe OK - it may be just the name of a cosmetic product? Is there list of ingredients on the label?

Hope you find some rubbing alcohol, it is good to have on hand. Try not to use soaps either, there are many additives that may not be very good for plants. Don't use any that are 'Antibacterial'. The best soap to use is natural soap. There is 'Castile soap' available that is made from olive oil. I believe that soap solution needs to be sprayed directly onto bugs to be effective.

You may want to keep this plant separate from others for couple of weeks - just in case there are any eggs hatching yet, since mealy bugs spread quite readily.
