What Can I Do With Ugly TV Cable Cord
Comments (4)The fact that the wall is an outside wall should have nothing to do with it. Whoever told you this is probably just too lazy to deal with snaking the line through with insulation. I'd bet if it were their home the line wouldn't be a tripping hazard lying across the floor of the room. Do you have an attic above this room? A basement below the room?...See MoreFixer Upper - Farmhouse of the Gaines family
Comments (55)"Startling lack of reading material, though I guess that is not surprising when her use of books is solely decorative." We don't have many books but I read a TON. My reading is either library books, which are in nightstand drawers or baskets in the living room, or I read on a Kindle or iPad. My husband doesn't read at home because he reads so much for work and he also works 60+ hours a week. Sadly, he just doesn't get pleasure out of reading at home these days. I hope no one would come into our home and assume something negative about us because they don't see loads of books. "I didn't know until reading this thread, that they have no TV--it seems to me that to say, "We're too busy, smart, morally superior, etc., to watch TV, but support us by watching our TV show," is the height of hypocrisy. Sorry if that's too negative." The TV thing came up during an interview (in BHG or Country Living Magazine or similar), when they were asked if their family watched their own show. They said they don't watch their own show at home because they don't have a TV. They didn't go into their reasons for not having one. I don't think not having a TV makes them morally superior, even if they do have a TV show. Because they have a show, they must now start watching TV?? That seems sort of silly, doesn't it? I don't know them, and I don't currently watch their show, although I saw the first season. I think it's surprising and a little sad that this group continues to bash them week after week. Hasn't it pretty much all been said?...See MoreAnyone watch "The Affair " last night?
Comments (5)Thank you for your kind comments! She is a sweetheart. She's lived in Paris her whole life but because my brother is American, she is completely and seamlessly bilingual. She has been studying acting for a while, but this is her big break. I've got my fingers crossed for her!...See MoreStreaming services and do I need another?
Comments (16)I keep limping along paying for UVerse but my annual plan expires soon and this may be the year I actually drop cable. Uverse is a legacy system that's no longer supported so the usual discounts I used to get by threatening to unsubscribe aren't offered and truth is, as far as tv watching is concerned it is a total waste for me now. We literally do not watch a single network tv show except for local/national news. The only channels we watch via UVerse are HGTV and Bravo along with occasional forays to CNN, MSNBC and the Weather channel if a storm's brewing. But now: I have Discovery+ for my HGTV fix I have Peacock as the go to for 'reality' junk tv I have Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Max and Hulu for series and movies I want to see I subscribe then drop channels for anything specific I want to watch like the Beatles Get Back I need to do a streaming audit, I've only held on so long with UVerse because the combination of adding Hulu live and a bump in internet service was higher than leaving well enough alone. Well that and I was nervous about navigating the streaming world as a non techie Boomer. I'm more confident now, it's not that hard any more to figure out the combination of inputs and clicks and remotes to use LOL....See MoreUser
