I love those and have them in lots of sizes! I never thought to stick them on the fridge; great idea!

I tried it out on my OXO measuring cup, and it's a tight seal! So much better than plastic wrap.

Can I safely wash it in the dishwasher and have it maintain its shape and properties?

I haven't put mine in the dishwasher... Afraid to ruin or discolor them!

I love them also. I have them in different sizes round and rectangle, even small ones for coffee mugs and small bowls and they work great. I've been hand washing mine but I seem to think mine had said dishwasher safe. Threw out the package thing so not 100% sure on that.

@nightowl -- I have not seen those and I thought I've seen and bought just about anything I can fit in my tiny kitchen. I love stuff like that! Those are in my cart ready for my next order!

I now see the small print that acidic foods (like tomato sauce) might stain or discolor, but baking soda, dishwashers, and sunlight are recommended treatments for stains.

Hmm, it has slid down the fridge, the countertop broke its slip. It doesn't stick to any other surfaces (cabinets, walls) the same way, though I have to break the seal to lift it off. A mystifying creation, this!

yes! and I love that I don't have to go from store to store to find a new 'toy'! Especially since I seldom go to a multitude of stores as I did in my 'younger days' (ah... those 'good 'ol days'!). I usually limit myself when I go out these days to what is necessary. I do 'browse' on qvc and hsn sometimes.

wow, that is cool! was reading the amazon reviews and some said you cannot cover anything that is wet? is that true? i mainly want to use it for soup lids..

I use my silicone lids to cover wet things like soup when I put in fridge. They suck/stick right on the container but it's not going to prevent liquids from spilling out if moved the wrong way. I even use my tiny ones on my coffee mug. They really are very handy.

If you have to stack containers in frig, can you place one on top of a container with a silicone lid?

My silicone lids aren't stiff like a plastic container cover. Their floppy kind of (can't think of a better word) moveable, bendable so I'd say no.

Ok, thanks. They look quite useful, but our counterdepth frig doesn't have a lot of space...hence the stacking.

They are useful for lots of other things. I use mine to cover a bowl if I'm marinating something in fridge (CD also), covering things when heating in microwave. I also use it to cover my pressure cooker meal after done cooking if I don't feel like getting out the glass cover. You'll find other uses. I'm sure theres more - they are handy!
