Is the Edgecomb Gray staying on the walls? I see on the BM color strip that Revere Pewter is right next to Edgecomb. I saw a gorgeous kitchen on a blog where they painted the cabinets Revere Pewter. I can't seem to find the full post where the kitchen is covered in detail, but if you scroll half way or so down this page, you will see the Revere Pewter cabinets. Classic Casual Home

I would do a white that is popular for kitchen cabinets. BM Dove White, Simply White, Cloud White. Google paint colors for a white kitchen and see what comes up.

Not saying you can't use Ballet White, I'm just not sure how it would read in your kitchen, All the whites I mentioned do have undertones, so check those of well.

I would be nervous about "reinventing the wheel" so to speak.

Ballet white would go nicely, but it's not that white. But it does pick up on the lighter tones in the stone so I think it would work nicely.

Have you considered staining them?

We did consult a few companies on stripping and staining but both said they couldn't do it for a few complex reasons. Our options are pretty much to paint or replace them completely. Thank you

We were also looking into Linen White but didn't know if it would be too bright and yellow. Also Swiss Coffee and white down. Definitely looking toward a warm tone and nothing that'll look too stark in the earthtoned kitchen

I was given lots of advice about painting my cabinets….

But the one that you should not think twice about is this:

Pick 2 or 3 colors that you "think" you will like.

Paint large color boards (whether it be poster board - or foam board - just as long as the paint adheres)

Then prop those babies up in different spots in your kitchen - and view them at different times of day. Don't put them next to each other.

He says he uses it on 90% of his white kitchen projects. But you really won't now until you look at it on a large board. Those little chips just don't work.

I wouldn't strip and stain.

Are you going to do new hardware too? If so, fill in the holes and then paint, so you can choose whatever you want. :)

BM White Dove is the go-to color for trim for pro painters around here. I did all of my trim with it (and kitchen ceiling).

I've got BM Capitol White on my kitchen walls (also a low-light room) with the White Dove trim. At first I wasn't sure I liked the two together, but now I love it. The Capitol White looks creamy and warm and wonderful against the White Dove.

I think the Linen White with White Dove trim would be gorgeous.

I love the shaker style of your cabinets and your granite counters are a great colour so you have a lot to work with. I agree with you wanting to paint your cabinets and I think that will make a huge change to your kitchen.

Without seeing the kitchen in person but judging from your online pictures I am going to suggest Benjamin Moore's Cloud White (CC-40). This is a brighter white with a warm tone.

Your granite appears to have a bit of brown/yellow in it and your wall colour Edgecomb Gray has a titch of green in it.

I do not personally agree with the Ballet White suggestion as it is very close in colour to the Edgecomb Grey on the walls and I fear that that will not be enough contrast - it also is not a very bright white and may appear to "grey" in your room when you want brightness.

I agree with the other post that you should try large samples of Cloud White, White Dove and Simply White. One of these should work really well as they are warm whites and brighter.

Remember to have your painter use the correct type of paint for a kitchen that has a bit of a sheen - do not use a flat sheen paint on the kitchen cupboards.

Looks beautiful! Did you paint them yourself? Were they sprayed or brushed? I'm thinking about painting ours but it seems daunting since we have a large kitchen like yours.

Karoloke, they were painted by a company that specializes in painting cabinets. They sanded the cabinets and sprayed. 3 coats.
