Comments (10)Believe it or not I had a quartz counter get a long line on it from a pineapple! It was on the counter and when I moved it to a new spot I guess I slid it and it left a mark that wouldn’t budge no matter what I tried (including acetone). I finally put some blue dawn on a magic eraser and than goodness it worked (magic eraser alone didn’t help at all, nor did dawn alone, nor soft scrub etc)....See MoreCan you remove and replace poorly applied silicone?
Comments (11)I'm sure it was easier to remove because it was failing. I don't think he used any chemicals to remove the silicone, but he did use something, probably the alcohol, to clean it up and then replace it. It looks fine (mind you, the tiling/shower frame levels in the shower are well done, so he didn't need to cover up big gaps.). I don't think this is necessarily going to be a "can of worms." It might not come out perfectly because of the gaps, but it's not like silicone is all that difficult or messy to deal with. I definitely wouldn't consider putting more silicone over the existing stuff....See Moremillworkman
