Yes, and it's not uncommon in that particular cultivar - it seems to have the wavy virus more than many of its siblings, but Echeverias do have a lot of cristate action in the genus. That's a wonderfully overpotted plant, but you're in one of the few places you can get away with that - with the superior drainage there I'd imagine it grows 11 1/2 months a year.

Ha. The pot originally had a keteleria seedling in it that stopped growing and died. When I saw the crest I pulled out the dead seedling and just set the crest on it. I didn't want to bother potting it up. We get winter here in San Antonio it's zone 8b 9a but not a very consistent winter and really mild. Some of the most beautiful weather we get is in winter. But I'd trade it for British Columbia weather in a heartbeat and I'd grow more Japanese maples and dwarf conifers. Summer can be brutal here!
