Bunch onion (Allium fistulosum) confusion.

I've inherited some bunch onions growing in pots.. I was told that they were grown from discarded parts of supermarket green onions. They look and act like true bunch onions and not young regular bulbing white onions sold as green onions.

So, what variety of bunch onion is sold most abundantly in US supermarkets, mainly southern California?

I've read somewhere that the answer may be the "Evergreen" variety but I'm really not sure. This brings up another question..

Here in the US, is "Nebuka" used synonymously with "Evergreen"?

I've read that in Japan, "Nebuka" simply means a blanching type where you hill up the stems to make them white. I've got "Evergreen" and "Nebuka" labled in seperate beds and if they are all the same, I want to make space and consolidate them into one spot.

Thanks
