What is the "in" type of flooring to use in a master bath?
Comments (22)If you're going to remain in the home for the next 5-10 yrs, put in what you want. If you live in a climate with chilly winters, think about heated flooring, btw. If you're planning on flipping in the next couple of years, think about your target market. Tile is more upscale and also sells well to Millennials/Gen X-Y. All our younger friends and family who are homeowners have remodeled their bathrooms with tiled walls and floors - not a single exception. As an older Boomer I go with vinyl because (1) my spouse LOATHES tile, even heated floors, (2) it's quieter and less likely to break things that fall, and (3) easier to clean and sanitize. Plus, we have a modest home in a middle-class neighborhood, so going high-end doesn't have so much payback as it would elsewhere....See MoreWhat type of cleaner for oil-based polyurethane wood floor surface?
Comments (0)Hi there, we recently had our red oak hardwood floors refinished with an oil-based polyurethane stain/finish. It was recommended to use Bona's cleaner for oil-based wood floors, but i cant find it in my area anywhere. Most retailers just carry the regular Bona wood floor cleaner. Would this still be safe for my floors? Is there something else I can use? Thanks!...See MoreWhat type of protective material/padding for closet over wood floor?
Comments (3)Consider cork flooring which can be purchased at your local home store and cut to size. They also may carry rubber flooring used in home gyms, however since this is thicker it may be harder to cut....See Morewhat type of wood would you use for shelves
Comments (2)What options are you considering? I'd say your choices are: -White (to blend with cabinets and tile) -Black (to match counter) -Dark wood (to highlight floor accents) -Light wood (to match main floor color) -Stainless (to provide bling) or go crazy with a color It kind of depends what look you like best! We also have variable floors (not as variable as yours) and white subway tile, and we went with a dark-stained butcher block for the counter and shelves on one side of our kitchen. We love it, but you'd have to see if you were comfortable with the contrast with the black counter. I might lean toward a lighter walnut stain in your case that shows more of the wood grain....See MoreMyFixitUpLife show
