Buy a larger rug, so that when chairs are pulled out they are still on the rug, and you won't see as much of the floor.

Hmmm, I like the Hickory White Formal set most for the room because it isn't too matchy for the floors. I think you need contrast or it'll be boring. Horses for courses, I guess.

I like the first one, the Stanley, and really don't care for any of the others. Most seem pass to me or too....something. I do like that first one, though.

The Drexel table seems very nice, but the chair backs are low & could use some reupholstery. The corner cabinet and buffet are nice though. Your new home looks great! Congrats!

I like the first, darker table the best. I think I would stay away from orange tones.

The Thomasville and Stanley sets look uncomfortable to me, but that is just my opinion, what do I know? With most of the CL stuff it is pretty hard to tell if you'll like it until you see it. I love the hickory white set but it is pricey and seems a little too modern for the space as it is now. The one in Gibsonia is very classic, as is the Drexel, but only six chairs would be a down side for me. I like the ten Hendredon dining chairs, very similar to the ones my folks have which have held up well, but with no table to go with them they might be difficult to match. If I liked that table that is not pictured, I'd go with that set because it is the most neutral and you can dress it up or down so you might not tire of it as quickly. If there were more chairs, I'd go with the one in Gibsonia, mostly because I like that style of table, very comfortable for seating large groups. If you like the Thomasville and Stanley chairs and don't find them uncomfortable, then they would be good too. It has been my experience that the pieced wood chairs can break over time but they can be fixed I guess. Just depends on how rowdy you get with them!

I like the drexel set the best---the buffet in particular is outstanding. I would either negotiate a price without the corner china cupboard ir put it in a different room or sell it or donate it. Its an awkward shape for a DR and looks more like a "curio" csbinet.

I would ask to see a photo of the Henredon table (it does say they have one). The Hickory White looks like the pedestals would be in the way of your legs when seated. The Drexel table looks like the top needs refinished and quite often the chairs on those sets are small, especially for men. The Thomasville chairs look very uncomfortable. I would definitely go look and sit in the chairs if any really appeal to you.

The last 2 links didn't open for me. I don't care for any of the chairs in these sets in comparison to what you describe that you already have. I like the Drexel table and buffet, and the Stanley table (but not its chairs). I'd say keep looking a bit longer. Something will come up that's a better fit.

I agree that the Hickory White pedestals look awkward for sitting.

I like the Drexel set a lot but would have the seats recovered. It's close to my house so would be easy to check out.

This is the feedback from the seller of the Drexel table: "The table is 57" with no leaves. 5 leaves at 13" each. Sides can fold down to make the table 37".

Would that be a drop-leaf table? I have not seen one of those for a long time.

Yes, that would be a drop leaf. It is a Duncan Phyfe style, probably from the 1940's, many are mahogany. They are usually not hard to find in thrift or antique shops. If you really like it, there is a good chance you could find extra chairs with the same lyre back.
