Sick Pink Lady, need help IDing the cause
Comments (6)It does indeed look like heat damage, and it's not unusual to see a few of these type of leaves, especially at the onset of the high heat as the tree "hardens off" to it. Pink Lady does tolerate high temps and does fine in Phoenix and Las Vegas. If this tree is killed by it despite plenty of water, I would look to a root problem, such as gophers, cotton root rot, or wooly aphid. This usually affects the whole tree though, and the new growth would hang limp. That being said I have 100+ apple varieties and all the trees themselves seem impervious to high heat (113F); however the apples have very mixed reactions to it, some baking to mush, some staying crisp and juicy. Heat alone should not be killing your apple trees....See MoreNeed some help Identifying these Succulents
Comments (21)Again i wanna thank you all for at least taking the time too write a response too my original post. Here is the sad tale as too how this collection came too me, a Neighbor who i would chat with while he was tending his plants in the yard next too where i just moved too, passed away, 2 days after the funeral his family just piled all his plants in the front yard in the trash, I am sure they are dealing with all the aspects of trying too sift through a love ones long life, but well, it bothered me. So i asked if it would be OK if i could take them, his family said sure. My mother in law has now jumped in with both feet and we are actually becoming very close (something I thought could never happen, in fact this is something that me and these plants original owner had actually discussed a few times hmmmmm ) Some of them because of broken pots i went ahead and planted in the ground but most are as i got them. Like i said i am reading reading reading on proper fertils and ............ the proper name subject is because i have REALLY become fascinated with them and would like too add too the collection, but more, i just WANT too be sure i know what i am doing. the Images.. truth is this is my first time i have ever done anything online on any type of forum/ chat boards, so i honestly don't really know how much of this actually "works" I tried copy and pasting the images in and i couldn't find an area too upload them with the message, i had originally hoped that the HTTP addresses would be a click direct, and would be able too just click and take you too the original Photo Storage space, but when it appeared that people would have too cut and paste, i figured id just see what happen. After I realized that what i had done was done COMPLETELY wrong,I planned on just waiting a while and once everyone had forgotten my disastrous first attempt, then id talk a more computer savvy friend into showing me how too just embed the photos here. I am now writing this because everyone has been so nice, i just didn't want too leave it like this. Ill keep working on this and when i get it hashed out i will be back thank you...See MoreNeed help identifying cause of leaf spots please!
Comments (1)Are there new leaves coming out? Unless a LOT of the leaves fall off, it probably isn't that much to worry about. How long has it been in that location? With the sun getting stronger, it could be that the leaves are getting "sunburned". The damage looks like a burn; which can be caused by too much sun or cold wind. Hibiscus do like to be fertilized every couple of months. I'd up the number of times you fertilize. Miracle Grow is fine. Also, you might want to water the plant when it needs it instead of a set schedule. As the plant grows and the roots system grows with it, it could need water more often. Although, the damage doesn't look like too little water. I fould a site with some good info on this topic. Good luck! Comments (4)Why did you put it in a pot and bring it inside? Based on my limited experience growing these I think they are generally better off kept outside. If your plant wasn't OK outside then maybe there's a way to change that. The light in your picture doesn't look like sunlight. Your plant might not be getting enough sunlight....See MoreCrenda 10A SW FL
