Thanks Bruce! Merry Christmas to all and happy growing! Can't wait to kick off the pepper growing season! Looking forward to all the post of seedlings and their progress. Going to have two raised garden beds this season a 4ft x 4ft and an 8ft x 4ft I will have more peppers than anything else.

Hi Noni! The day was planned to be quiet, but I ended up spending it with many good friends (my "renta-a-family"). I have several Hippis in bloom: Intokasie, Rock 'n Roll, Candy Floss, Tosca, Sweet(?) Nymph and a Minerva. Several are ready to bloom within a few days. And the orchid is still going strong and has filled the back porch with it's amazing perfume. K

"Over?" That depends, Mike. Philosophically, one can say Christmas isn't over until one allows it to be. For those of a Catholic persuasion, Christmas does not end until Epiphany. It's nice to talk to some old friends. :-) Some I keep up with on FB (thus Pam's "awkward photo" comment - LOL...there was one that WAS) Swaps were fun and such a great connecting point for so many of us. :-) Jessy's boys, Annie's girls (and g-kids - still just 2?) have to be grown too. Will is a freshman now - he doesn't find much time to cook with me anymore but his interest in food is pretty high - LOL! I promise when things slow down after the holiday, I will be back a little more and catch up. Hugs to everybody

I made mussels for Christmas dinner. Now I'm making witches brew with mussel shells. A merry gardening Christmas!

Yep. They're almost pure calcium carbonate and reacts with vinegar. It's pretty fun to watch.

Late Merry Christmas back at you! Hard to believe that here though. It was 77 F here today in South Carolina. I don't think I can remember it ever being literally HOT this time of year before.

Happy Holidays Everyone and wishing All a Great Pepper Year!!

Had a NO snow Christmas (just north of Minneapolis), but woke up to 5 inches of the white stuff on Saturday. Crazy weather this winter!

Same here, we got a light dusting Christmas eve that wound up barely covering the grass. It was gone by noon on Christmas day. But, Mother Nature has a make up in store for us. Not sure it will make it to Minneapolis. I am 50 miles north of Madison, Wisconsin.
