Update to: To Border or Not to Border

Hello Folks & Happy Holidays,

I finally found the pix to update this quilt that got finished. You all had helped w/ feedback, so here's some pix to enjoy (I hope).

Pls ignore the bottom of this shot, I haven't learned how to crop or rotate pix for the newer Houzz direct photo load business. I like the double brown border, of the inner border & then the binding.

wish the pix were lighter but ...

Here's the view I always want to see, front & back together.

I am visual person and usually do dry layout tile several times before I can figure out what goes where. Do the dry layout and see which way it looks best for you. Tiles that go on the wall gets laid out on the appropriate size of plastic or sheet to see if I am going to run in any problems.

I think bordering the quilt would give it a finished appearance. Since you have color running right to the edge, another option would be to have a white-on-white border the same width and fabric as the sashing and then a binding of one of the bright colors. This wouldn't add very much in size, but would frame the quilt. It is an adorable quilt, by the way. Very beautifully done.

That's OK, Urlee. Our URL is changing next year, so I'm on hold until we find out what it will be; otherwise, we'd just have to redirect. Last year, I think I changed the canvas color to black - or maybe created a new document with a black canvas - then copied it. I'm going to try to recreate that. Thanks!

Replacing/ covering ugly tile border

Thanks. Yes- it’s a standard width size, but the base is not a standard depth. When we remove the vanity it looks like there is going to be a gap between the floor tile and new cabinet. Good idea, Debbi. I’d really like to get rid of the blues altogether if I can, go a totally different palette. I saw one DIY project where they ground out the grout with a dremel and removed a border tile so that’s one idea. It may cost slot to have someone do it though, and i’m Not brave enough to do it myself.

Very pretty. I like the color combination. Not something I would think to buy, but love it when I see what someone else has done.

Thx for the kind words everybody. These pix have an odd yellowish cast to them, odd. Not my color pallette at all, rather scraps which I made into blocks, sort of 'made fabric'.

Don't know how to do links, but pls. search some threads here talking abt Crumbs, & w/ these colors I called in Chocolate Crumbs. Makes for fun play to just throw together blocks like that, I recommend it as play.
