Update on the Tree I thought was dead but gave a chance!

What was it, three weeks ago when I posted it as branches and looking dead? I could not find it.
It was fed pure vinegar by my Dad by accident and I thought I lost it. It was just twigs and lost half its branches and all of it's leaves, even most of the roots.
Look at what LOTS of sunlight can do even this time of the year. I think it will make a full come back) See all the new green growth!
Also too, I thought I would show you a Grapefruit sitting right next to it..The fruit is about to ripen as it loves that spot too)
The Grapefruit....
I will be back in a week as I chronicle its progress..Thanks to those that had hoped it would take off for me)

Is my plum tree dead?
Comments (4)Unfortunately, my yard is tiny - and I have big ambitions) What I am planning to do, if I have to plant a new tree, I will bring a couple yards of topsoil and will make an artificial hill - I already made one for my new apricot tree and it went through this harsh winter alive. Originally our lot was very sloppy, so construction workers added about 2-3 feet of complete junk - gravel mixed with clay, huge rocks, bricks and so on... And then covered it with 2 inches of topsoil. So when you dig a hole in it and fill it with a nice soil, you getting pretty much a teacup, which will retain the water, because the junk soil around the hole has almost no drainage, despite it is 50% gravel. What I don't know though, is how the roots of the plum tree are located. I guess feeding roots should be in the top layer, because it is very easy to damage a small root when you cultivate around the tree. Those roots should be OK on the hill. Comments (4)It's not unusual for these bare root persimmons to not leaf out until August, and I've heard of cases where they didn't leaf out until the following spring. This is caused by transplantation shock from improper care of the roots. So perhaps all is not lost, but it does not speak well of the nursery that sent the trees to you. Comments (5)in z5.. may we presume this is an indoor lemon .. if so .. it is reaching toward the light... or window the absolute best thing you could do is add supplemental light ABOVE.. so that it reaches upwards.. instead of towards the window ... and then gently guide it up over the next year with a stake.. as previously noted ... especially in winter ... now.. do i have to come over there.. and take away your pruning shears????? ... it will lose its leaves again.. this winter .... that is what deciduous trees do .... and as far as i know.. lemons are ... but wouldnt be surprised if i was told otherwise ... ken PS: seed grown or a graft ... if grafted.. there is a chance you may have cut off the good part .......See MoreThought i did all my research, tree arrives 2morrow and im nevus
Comments (6)Congrats, it wont be long before you have a dozen trees! do you have materials on hand for the soil it will be in. Be sure you use a very well draining mix. Do you know about Al's 2 mixes, they are very good and the preferred choice around here. While it is inside it will not require as much water as when it is out. Over watering is the probably the top reason why indoor plants/trees die or suffer next to inadequate light. I use regular all purpose miracle grow and add a slow release pellet fertilizer that has minor nutrients in it. A lot of people use Foliage Pro, it has everything plants need in it. Once again it will not require as much fertilizer as when you get it outside. My trees all go into a greenhouse in winter so my fert schedule is similar to them being outside. Ill leave the dosage recommendation to one of the other more experienced indoor growers here. sounds like the location it will be in will be fine, if a southern window is not available an eastern one is the next best. You can always add artificial lighting if you find it necessary. A good rule of thumb is the more light the tree gets the more important you keep the root system warm to avoid leaf drop....See Moremyermike_1micha
